View Full Version : Merc wins Open Comp in FFW Richmond
After loosing in the finals at the tree in Street Ford class. I came back Sunday to the car show to run against some truly fine iron. In 2005 I won Best Marauder, in 2006 I won the Mercury Class & Peoples Choice. In 2007 I posted my third victory in a row in Open Comp. That's a record for the ages at Fun Ford Events. Enjoy the pictures I had a blast.

I was with the 1st Div a few decades ago. I thought it was a good time to remember the troops. I think our country is still at war, right? You don't catch the POW MIA Tags in the rear.

If you're gonna be one ... might as well be A Big Red One. You were there after they converted from M48s to M60s, right? Old man. :geezer:
I know your VA plate easily; but I can't say that I have ever noticed the POW/MIA theme. :o
Way to represent, Mark!! :congrats:
Thanks Mary, I know Marauderville will be a blast in Aug. I look forward to attending the event.

Very cool Mark!! Congrats!!!
That pic is awesome. :banana2: You should print it out and add it to your display. We've got a photo printer that makes great prints. I could print it if you don't have one.
Nice job! Is that the same car I drove when you stopped by over a year ago?

Congratulations Merc:banana2: Great job..
Thanks everyone for your kind words. It takes a lot of time and money to do these national events. Charlie, Sherman, and Chris have been working on my car for the last month to prepare it for Pinks and FFW Richmond. We don't own a trailer or truck. We pack 4 extra tires in the car. Tools jack, cleaning supplies, and a ton of other items. I can tell you there was no extra room in the car. Saturday we raced till 8:00 P.M. ate dinner at 8:30 worked on the car till 11:45. Showered and got up 6:00 A.M to do it all again. We stayed an extra day just to recover. Pam is a real trooper. She calculated temps, kept stats on each driver in my class, and worked the pits.

I didn't know there were so many Army Vets on the site. Barry I expect to win every competition I enter, but it doesn't always happen that way.:mad2: Come on down to Marauderville V after you get your car fixed. I have a project motor, but it will not be ready till spring 08.
