A-pillar gauge pod:
Well, I looked up the Jeg's reference mentioned in 'Bastid's recent post, and whadduya know . . . An "Auto Meter 2-1/16'' Dual Gauge Pod" for the Mercury Marauder!!!
http://newsfile.tv/10510100.jpg
Auto Meter 2-1/16'' Dual Gauge Pod part no. 105-10110
At jegs.com, search under Marauder, look under Mercury in the gauge pod results and voila! Part no. 105-10110. Didn't someone make this same discovery a few months ago, but where something wasn't quite right? From the way Jeg's is listing the part, it seems to be the correct part, doesn't it? Did they finally reconsider Sarge's suggestions? Anyway, ain't it cool?

I was choosing between this pillar double gauge or single column gauge and I chose the latter simply because it fits in better and unlike the pillar pod doesn't look like an add-on. (the pillar gauge seems to be bolted in the middle of the pillar and doesn't replace it... like I hoped it would)
however for those interested in these gauge-pods consider the guy whom I got mine from: www.hot-rod-shop.com tell Anthony Russ from JerseyVics sent ya... I got a great price below Autometer MSRP.

Aha! Yeah, JV, I can see the fastener in the pic now that you mention it--not very factory-ish looking, I agree. Where exactly does the "single column gauge" you mentioned install?

Question - Is this (http://www.angryducktofuracing.com/cvstore/html/accessories.html) what you're referring to ? *Sorry don't know the AutoMeter part#.

mine goes over the column, it doesn't replace the upper piece but goes right on top of it...

It won't work for the Marauder because you guys have the floor shifter... my pod has a hole for the shifter and a bump over the keyhole. I haven't mounted it on the car yet so can't show off the pix but it'll be installed soon.
--Russ :)
PS. I only paid under $40 bux for my gauge pod when its advertised everywhere else over $50 so Anthony got great deals!

I also have the a pillar guage pod, I've painted it with graphite plastic spray paint, perfect match, but have yet to install it, because at the Trilogy open house Searge asked about a new a pillar pod, that would replace the whole a piller. he took the name of the company in michgan that can do it, but have yet to hear back if he contacted them yet? Searge??

No. AutoMeter did not.
I wanted an "A pillar" mount, not just a "pod" mounted on that, for a clean OEM look. I also asked Autometer to consider producing a true 3 gauge center pod (just above the console), to replace the two gauge pod/cigarette lighter mount we have now. Again, the answer from AutoMeter was "not enough market on the street."
That was then, this is now. Maybe if we all e-mailed AutoMeter (including those so wanting from other Panther based web sites) our wants could change AutoMeter's way of looking at this...Maybe? It's a thought, ya know?

Same story...This avenue is too expensive for us.
BTW, I also noted a post here on the steering column mount, which said that it would not fit because we do not have a column shifter. This is true, so, look for a steering column mount for a manual trans, perhaps the AutoMeter mount for the F-150 with manual would fit?
A steering column mounted gauge is very cool...

yes indeed!
I like mine, can't wait to install it.

PS. the only thing it blocks is the speedometer past 120mph... lol
if I'm going that fast I doubt I'll need the speedometer, haha

Grab from behind on both sides, put the shifter in 1 and pull it straight out. We needed to bring back a 7yr old thread to answer this?

The little push pins that hold the pod onto the a-pillar will probably get ruined. Get a pkg of them at any performance shop that sells Autometer stuff.

Guys, he's talking about the "A" pillar pod, not the center gauge pod.
