page 87 in our owners manual, is the activation/deactivation procedure, Now this is my second 2004 MM and neither one would deactivate with the provided directions, Has anyone been able to deactivate yours with this procedure

Yep. I've done mine and several other Fords. Make sure you do the plug/unplugs within the time frames.

I've had the same luck as you. Won't deactivate.

I think the instructions printed in our manual are wrong. If I remember correctly, we have to buckle-unbuckle 9 times (not 3)...Ending Un-buckled. Air bag light on.... then buckle and unbuckle... Should work...
Someone posted this up last year. I followed it and tuned mine off successfully. Although I always buckle-up.

Oh crap! the book says 3?! It's definately 9! My 03 book says 9.

do you have to do it for both seats separately or does the drivers seat shut both off?

JUST DO THE DEAVTIVATION ONCE, AND YOU WILL BE SET, DONT FORGET 9 IS THE LUCKEY #

Just cut off the buckle and plug it in.

Deactivate As Many Times As You Like, I Deactivated Mine Once And Havent Herd That Annoying Ding Since
