Made some small changes on my '93 Cobra.

I shortened the goofy, long antenna to a more "normal" looking length. Thanks for the tips on how to do this.

This picture doesn't really do it justice, but a side profile shows the real difference:

I also had the center caps polished and they look GREAT. Again the picture doesn't really do it justice:

What do you all think?

Now if it would stop raining, I could cruise this b!tch around some!!

not bad. How well does the shorter antenna work?

To paraphrase, it is better to look good than to work good!

It actually works perfectly.

The little things matter

How many years of your life did you spend finding that woman?

Looks good, Marty. With the blowtorch radio stations in your area, it prolly wouldn't matter if the antenna was gone altogether.

Correct me, but isn't '93 the first year for the Cobra? I'm sure they had bulletproof 5.0's in 'em, and super suspension goodies.

That's a great, way cool, driver.:2thumbs:

The short antenna looks good, are you spending most of your time up north these days?

The stations are strong here indeed.

This is the first year of Cobras and it is a blast to drive. the car is like new and has $16,xxx miles on it.

Yeah, And I don't know why Marty wasted his money on that SVT Cobra when he could have bought a 1976 MustangII Cobra with a 130hp 302 V8.
Those Cobra IIs came complete with HUGE rocker panel graphics to let people know that you were a bad HOMBRE.

:P

(Sorry I couldn't find a picture of one of those TURDS!)

BTW: Marty, that is a sweet ride...I almost bought one in Teal...but you know what they say about 20:20 hindsight.

Cruisin' the boulevard with a 130 HP 2-barrel 302!

Does it get any better than that?

(Now 'WAYYYYY back when' some street racer in the Detroit area packed a built 460 into one of those....talk about a sleeper!)

Talk to Sal @ Power Surge - he had two in the shop the last time I was there. Not actual Cobras, but VERY healthy Mustang II's. Both were set up for serious drag racing.

When you look at the production numbers, and the behemoth(s) they replaced, especially the gumment mandated horsepower reductions in the '73 Mustang and Montego, I think the Mustang II get's a bad rap.

Having said that, however, for some reason(s) I just cant help but cringe every time I see one of the things, and it seems to be an almost universal reaction. :dunno:

It's interesting though, the Fairlane, which, I think, shares the platform seems much better liked, especially the Futura. Ever seen a healthy FE block in one of those?

BTW the ones with 5 lug wheels had 351's in 'em.
