When you were growing up you would hear your parents tell you...,
something or other and you would take it (like you had a choice) and
life would go on. But as you get older and raise children, you realize
you are saying the same thing as your parents. The phrase for me,
from my father that comes to mind is:

Don't do as I do, DO as I say do.

I use this phrase when it come to the MM and my kid.

What's yours???????????

Something about trust your elders they really do know what they are talking about.

or

Trust me I know it isn't going to work. (and then of course it doesn't)

or

Now I know why 18 or 20 or 25 year olds can't become President or Prime Minister or Premier...

no you can't be an astronaut or jockey or race car driver...

Wow the little kids wear me right out.

A family tradition that has been handed down over the generations:

Son, I have a theory that teenagers peak in intelligence at about age 18. Then they get dumber every year and if you're lucky some day you will be as dumb as me.

When Dad told me this I didn't get, when I told my sons, they didn't get it. But then we did!!!

Another favorite of Dads- Do that one more time and I'll smack you so hard that your clothes will be out of style by the time you stop rolling.

Here's a few more dear ole dadism's:

Keep it up and I'll paddle your @$$ so hard you won't be able to sit for a week.

Knock it off or I'll hit you so fast your head will spin.

I'll boot your @$$ so hard I'll have to drive to the other side of the next county to pick you up.

Gotta love it. He kept me on the straight and narrow.:bows:

I've been on the sidelines for a while, so I've got a few saved up...

What I thought I would never say...

"Ok sir, here's the keys to my Marauder, I'll be taking that Pontiac home now."

"Man, Hawaii really sucks."

"Man, St. Louis looks great!"

"Hey, I'm gonna be a daddy!" (baby daughter born just last February)

"Hey, what happened to MM.net?"

"Where's Logan?"

"Not tonight dear...I'm too tired and got a migraine..."

"Guess I picked the wrong week to quit drinking."

"Naw, no fries...think I'll have a salad instead."

"Naw, no bourbon...think I'll just have an iced tea. With a lemon. In a clean glass."

"Man, I miss my Marauder."

"Hey, this Pontiac Grand Prix is great!" (I have the GXP version---same HP as a MM, but less size and it's FWD.)

I'm sure there's a few others I could add, but these'll do for now.

Wow is this a true story?

marauder307

Yes it is...

Actually traded away the Black Hulk back in April '06; it went for a Bonneville GXP. THAT car turned out to be as big a problem magnet as the MM (although, in the MM's defense, it was only a problem because the gov't movers jacked it up in the move out here to HI---Matson Shipping strikes again!). I traded away the B-ville for the GP just this past May. 2600 miles later, it's still going strong. The torque steer's a mother under WOT, but it will run with a stock MM and stock Charger R/T's, but not with the SRT versions. Scares the crap outta ricers---they don't expect trouble from a GP.
