What a treasure! BTW, notice the very early ones had what looks like a regular guy, wearing a hat with wings, and it wasn't until much later they took on the more stylized look of today. Take a look at the '72 Montego GT, nice looking car, I think.

Im pretty sure the name and the call back to the racing years of Mercury was the idea behind the ad, Sure wasnt the stock power.

I saw the neckbrace advert in a magazine i think. Car and driver road and track ?

It was the only advertising for the Marauder that i did see, and the one car sitting by itself behind a sign with noone anywhere near it at a car show. I climbed in sat down thought it was nice but not as nice as my Cobra. I didn't know it was fast or anything else and nearly forgot about it.
