Today I Shot the GMC Pro Challenge Shoot on the trap fields at Greencastle, PA. There were 100 sixteen yard targets, and broke 97 for top honors in the Veteran Class, then shot 100 Handicap targets, and broke 96 for top score in that competition.

Two nice trophy's to bring home, but won't know about the money until later, ....... it should be a nice check.

I'm very pleased. :D

With 100 clays to shoot at...I probably could have gotten into the double digits.

Way to go!

Congrats, Mike. Guess that your new nickname is "Dead Eye Poore".

But I wouldn't go bragging about shooting "handicapped clay pigeons" -- ;)

Congrats Mike!!!

When I was spliting playing cards from the bench at 50 yds, some of my friends were calling me "White Feather".

BTW an interesting aside. I shot the Wimbelton Match at Camp Perry in '66 & 67. It's a 1,000 meter High Power event. Want to guess who won those competitions?

Is anyone else experiencing problems when trying to create a "New Thread"?? I can post in someone else's thread; but can't create any new ones since yesterday. If you have had problems like this -- speak up. :o

Why are you hijacking my thread? :hijack:

Charlie I was able to start one. See: New Thread, which I'll delete in a little while.

If the issue persists, let me know, or PM Mary, 'cause that's what I'll do, as I haven't a clue.

Congratulations Mike.
Later this week I'll be heading for the NRA Whittington Center in Raton NM. For the last 10 years I have volunteered with the National Youth Hunter Education Challenge. We will have 400-500 some odd teenagers coming in next week for this competition. I am the range master for one of the two Sporting Clay ranges we setup for this event (and we burn up almost 15,000 shotgun shells/pigeons in 4 days). Since the kids complained that the ranges were too easy 6 years ago, we have definitely made it a challenge with no perfect scores since. Granted we have made it a challenge and the teams have appreciated the challenge and have fun with it. We'll see what happens this year.
Safety, responsibility, and ethics is always our theme.

Congratulations to you for the fine program at Raton. :)

One of the kids who shoots at our local club is a homeschooler and shot for his 4H team at Whitttington , and came back raving about the experience.

PS: Did you know about the Browning XT Trap that Guns Unlimited in Omaha unveiled at Sparta, last year? Lucky me, just took delivery of a Golden clays Unsingle Trap Combo. 32" o/u & 34" Unsingle :woohoo:

Congratulations Mike! Very impressive! You should go hunting with me, so that I will know that I will get something to cook!

Motorhead, just fill out a Firearm Owner's Identification form, along with $5, and send it to the state. The cards are good for 5 yrs.
