I think that you should reverse these two steps. ;)

Pat you forgot to put the helmet and jacket on before you hit the staging lanes. It does not hurt to take a potty break before the staging lanes so you are relaxed and not feeling rushed!

Always good to put some detailer wax spray on while waiting in the staging lanes. Driving from home to track you can pick up a lot of dirt.

Use Pam spray on the lower quarters. Makes getting the burnout rubber off easier.

Use Pam spray on the lower quarters. Makes getting the burnout rubber off easier.I will argue that point. I tried it at Norwalk in May. Tried wiping it off before I left. My hands were a filthy, greasy mess. Couldn't get it off my hands. Ended up using degreaser to get lower quarters clean, and ruined a sponge too.
Put a good coat of wax on, then stop at the do it yourself carwash after and blast the rubber off. Don't let it to harden on car like I did one winter. Went to Milan, MI on the last day of season for a cold weather run, then parked the car till spring. What a b**** to remove.

That's a very good tip, all those wasted hours trying to get that rubber off.
Thanks.

Also, folding in the mirrors , I didn't know that. Gad, that should make the competition quake in their flying boots. Another good tip. Thank you.

Going to the potty before racing. Silly as that may seem, with us older people when we have to go we have to go and feeling rushed or squirming around is not conducive to concentrating on the race at hand. Thanks again.

Got to correct the #1 post, my check list.

When I come back around and get into the staging lanes I just take a towel and whip it all off with no problem.

We didn't believe it either but some of us SSM played with it at Moroso one night. Consistent runners gained nearly a tenth. I'm so dayum inconsistent, I couldn't tell!!!

You might also want to remove the left headlight assembly.

I remove my left headlight all the time. I know when Joe Walsh and I went to the local track he was running 12.9 everytime. Don't know if actually helped gain anything but it certainly doesn't hurt.

I'm counting on the veteran 1/4 milers here to help a newbie like me. The last time I was on the strip was 32 years ago and never with a ATX.
