I recall other screw-ups, like this, and the courts have always held that the mistake not need be honored, especially if it's going to put the business out of business.

For the time being, they're getting millions worth of free advertising, world wide. I bet they'll get all the "winners" into a pool and have a drawing, awarding the top prize to one of 'em, as stated in the origonal contest, provide snacks & drinks, have a party for the losers, and get a ton more of free advertizing out of it.

Meanwhile the sales staff will be working the crowd. :beatnik:

The alleged winners can sue.
I am sure there is a disclaimer on the tickets.
A similar event happened in the NY Daily news where several people had $100,000 winning tickets. ( should have been one) They lost ther case in court.

If the promotion clearly states that there is only one grand prize awarded, but many show up as would be the case here, the question becomes which is the true winning ticket. The first to claim the prize should be it. Similar happens with "Bingo".
The others should be offered some sort of consolation, in this case it would probably be a 'special' price on a car purchase ;)
