You can use the the K&N cleaning/recharge kit.

Get a saddle brush and use hair shampoo.
No, I'm not kidding. A brush with long, medium strength bristles to get in the grooves, but not damage the filter and plain shampoo, not the fancy stuff. Shampoo is an EXCELLENT grease dissolver. I do not oil mine in order to keep the MAF clean, yet I do not have any dust residue in the intake pipes.
This works for me. YMMV.

You can use the K&N recharge kit.....just use a light amount of the oil....no problems here with it getting on the MAF.

I just cleaned mine using the K&N recharge kit about a week ago and was very satisfied with the results. Also very easy to do.

FWIW every company "recharge kit" is designed the same... they just use a different color of oil. If you want a more orange-ish appearance use a fram kit. Green for green, etc. But yeah.... it's fine. Just spray the oil from a distance to maximize coverage per unit of spray oil which reduces chances of over-oiling.

You can also get a can of CRC MAF cleaner from Advanced Auto for about 5 bucks and use after running the newly oiled filter. Clean it after a hard run or about a week. Which ever comes first.

^^^ I do that in addition to proper oiling... better safe than sorry.
