I think it's more like something bending, nice Mustang though (hey, how many gears did that thing have, he kept shifting, and shifting, and shifting:rolleyes:) and waste of a nice Charger (too many hubcaps:rolleyes:)

He didn't total the Mustang, could you imagine how much that Charger would be worth today.

I do recall that the Bullitt Mustangs had 390s.

I think you are right now that I double checked. It was a GT 390 he was driving. On a side note, did you guys know that all the engine sounds from his 'Stang is actually overdubbed from a GT 40? That's sweet. :cool:

I had not heard that one abouit the engine sounds are from a GT40. What is known is that Steve McQueen did a lot of the actual driving, and what you hear is a lot of double clutching. This was Steve's own technique from having driven many old race cars that required double clutching.
