Hi Marauder Owners,
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
If possible could you share some insights on your vehicle/experiences with your vehicle as I am considering one for my wife’s new D/D.
<o:p></o:p>
I have found a very low mileage 04 black loaded one for 21K, and I am seriously considering it. I am a former Ford L/M Senior Master Technician (walked away from it for an Engineering Career in the Rail Vehicle Manufacturing Sector in 01), and have worked with Panther platform vehicles since the mid-80’s. Although for this body, it was mostly regular G/M’s T/C’s C/V's and was super familiar/specialized in P71’s and CNG Panthers.
<o:p></o:p>
Anyway, my wife currently has an 06 FX4 Super-Crew that we don’t overly like and she also has her 03 Mach 1 that is her “sunny day summer” car with about 9K on it since 03. We are going to shortly get rid of the Super Crew (I have an 07 Chevy Colorado Z71 as my company car, and we also don’t need the F-150 anymore).
<o:p></o:p>
I have always admired the Marauder from a distance, and have always loved 4-doors that also haul (really miss our 92 SHO).
<o:p></o:p>
Essentially the Marauder and Mach share the same power plant (although her mach is a 5-speed). From taking from friends still at Ford when they came out, they would tell me they “weren’t super great off the line, put excellent for rolling type acceleration”. My impression is they were similar in performance to the early Mark 8’s as far as the stall speed, pcm configuration (as similar as EECIV and V can be).
<o:p></o:p>
Although both of us are now older and the kids are really on their own, (USN) we still are hooligans. Nothing makes us happier that spanking Johnny Ricers and their hondoyotaishi’s by Bus Lengths with the Mach and out other Mustangs (I have 3 other 80’s Fox Bodies in 5.0 and Turbo 2.3).
<o:p></o:p>
Her Mach with really nothing more than <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:time Minute="10" Hour="16">4:10</st1:time>’s 31 Spline Shafts for D/R’s, Auburn Pro Diff and SLP Cat-Back runs a fairly solid 12-8-13.1 with a non-aggressive launch.
<o:p></o:p>
How does the Marauder Respond to <st1:time Minute="10" Hour="16">4:10</st1:time>’s, Different Stall Converter, ECM Re-flash etc. With the basic bolt-on’s did you maintain good driveabilty? Is it achievable to expect a Mid- High 13’s car and still be able to take trips, etc?
<o:p></o:p>
Any tidbits of wisdom are appreciated, and thanks in advance.

look at my sig.

4:10, tune, ud, 3,000 stall and exhaust got me a 13.7 on street tires. Others have gotten 13.5 in better air.

At min 4:10 and a tune are needed or you will be disappointed in how she drives abd preform.

Welcome to the site. As stated above you can achieve the numbers you want with the above mods. At $3.40 and higher a gallon for 93 here, I've elected to stay away from 4.10s. The 04 has a higher stall converter than the 03s. Mine has been a daily driver since day one. In the winter I use snows all the way around, studded in the rear. No problems and I live in the central NYS snowbelt. Its a great car and exceeds all my demands. I've even carried lumber in it. The national meet is later this week in Hagerstown, MD. Stop by and check out some of the various rides.

We may have some knowledgable Marauder owners touring Gettysburg Friday afternoon. Recommend PM'ing Mike Poore (Mike is leading that tour) or coming to see the gathering of Marauders in Hagerstown this week. See the forums for more info.

I drive my 03 300a 60-70 miles a day with a Trilogy Supercharger kit ( Eaton M112 simular to the Lightning/ 03-04 Cobra) 4.56 gears, 3000 stall convertor, and full legnth headers. I love this car and the hardest part is staying out of the boost to help the MPG. :)

Mine was a daily driver for a year and a half. I repo'd my 2006 Taurus SES from the ex and made THAT my daily car. The Marauder camps out in the garage, on carpet, under a cover and comes out to be petted and rubbed with a diaper. She has 34,400 miles and is going to stay safe. The Taurus gets better mileage, has a dead-pedal and A/C that actually makes my knees ache. I like driving the Taurus anyway, it's more practical and I don't care if it sits in the sun for 10 hours a day. The Marauder is too tempting to race every idiot with a fart-cannon or do triple-digit speeds on the highway.

The Marauder is my D/D. I use it for work to bring things into the office.
My '04 is much faster than my '94 Mark VIII. With a computer tune from Reinhart, it has an aggresive feel. It only gets 13-17 MPG durring the summer, but will get 20-22 on the highway. I love this car.

My Marauder WAS a D/D for almost 2 years. I have just about every bolt on and it was still reliable and a pleasure to drive.

Bought nearly three years ago...my Marauder has been and will be my DD. With the mods in my signture, I don't get great gas mileage, but when she has a chance to stretch her legs, the mileages goes up.

Mine has a Procharger and 112,000 miles and I still use it everyday and no not to just move it when the street cleaner comes around. It's still my daily driver next to my 17 year old Blazer. :D

Mine is a daily driver...sadly, I live far too close to work in a an urban area, so friggin speed limits are 25-30 mph and traffic is too heavy to enjoy the short drive. Upside is the mileage goes on very slowly and gasoline prices don't bother me too much. The MM is the everything car... work, grocery, road trips, etc.

Thank you all very much for the reply's and info.

The 04 I was going to be looking at was sold before I got to it. I think however, I am going to locate another of similar mileage.

The only real things it "has to have", is Black and a Moonroof.

Moonroofs are rare, but like everything else can be added by a good installer.

Hi,

OEM only for the moonroof, so it will take a bit to find.

I drive my DTR every other day. I just don't have anywhere to go and don't go very far.

I have almost put 950 miles on it in two months though, that is alot for me.

My MM is a daily driver for almost 2 years. One day I'll get a good tune for her and maybe install the 4.10s that I have in the closet.
