My folks need brakes and rotors on their '02 Continental, I went to RockAuto to order some and found an array of choices.
I felt confident I could choose the best ones, in this case best being good quality for a good price. I'm looking for the mid-range that will give good braking and quiet operation.
After looking at all the choices I feel perplexed.
Each manufacturer seems to have a number to choose from and there are not good descriptions for all. How do semi-metallics, ceramics, and organics stack up? I didn't realize it but it appears some of the ceramics use organic material as well but some do not. (Based on the descriptions at least...)
Just looking for opinions on the best midrange set to get, this isn't a performance car but right now it's got a bad shimmy when brakings probably due to warped rotors so I want to do pads too.
Rotors: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1387166,parttype,189 6
Pads: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1387166,parttype,168 4
(Note, only doing fronts, rears should be fine!)
