This week I am begining to not like my speakers again. I need them to be perfect and I am now realizing that maybe harder tweeters are not my bag and a bit to harsh. I currently have4 pioneer premier 4 ways 6x8 and 2 tweeters ts11 on the dash. I dont have to keep the tweeters.
So, I am yet again changing my speaker setup, I am definitely going to go soft silk tweeters on two or three way speaker. Should I go the pioneer REV route, or blaupunkt http://www.blaupunkt.com/us/7606200257_main.asp Back when I was a youngster Blaupunkt were top of the line, I am not too sure anymore. What do yall think.

Get headers and you won't have to worry about whether your tweeters are hard or silky any more.

I am an audiofile and for shure silk dome tweeters are the best choice of all! The ones your not happy with that are too bright are either aluminum dome or ferro fluid filled. I would go with the 2~ways and upgrade the sub and add a monoblock amp.Goodluck!

:eek:I think I remember warning you about this!!! :shake:
Go with the Revs and if you need additional tweetage, the TS-T15's will complement the revs nicely.
If you plan on keeping power levels low, the TS-G6841R is a great sounding speaker for the price. I used this G series in a competition vehicle and was later recruited to be a demo car for Audio Control, so the G's are no joke (with lower power levels). I had TS-T15's in that car also.
Forget blau. They aren't what they used to be. Also their product line is terribly inconsistant year to year.
The TS-T15 tweet has been around for over 10 years that I know of. Pioneer got it right and left it right!
Do the G's and the 15's. Do a Pioneer deck in the future. It'll have planty power and an internal x-over for those separates, then just amp the bass. Simple, clean, loud. Trust me. ;)

Being in Florida I've never had to use this 'defroster' you speak of, but my uneducated guess would be you are getting interference from the juice being pulled to 'defrost' Same as when you run the microwave and certain tv stations will get distorted. Maybe? Don't take my word for it. Maybe you should just move to Florida and avoid the problem altogether!;)

Yes you did, I was just afraid of overpowering the G's. I am running 35-40w rms, crossovers, and a signal processor to delay the sound if need be. You know rich, I just dont think I like the hard domes anymore.
I have a good line on pioneer products, do you feel the revs will hit the highs without that scratch or distoriton at high volume???
The scratch and distoration is normally from an amplifier clipping. Try turning your gains down.

Yes John, I have. This sounds a bit different from the clipping scratch, it almost sounds "unclean" and it does not sound that way when I run just the front or just the back.

It's over-power on those iddy biddy capicitors on those 4-way's tweets.
I've thrown 300W each at 6.5" revs (crossed over and gained down, of course). They're worth the money!!!
PS. In an over-bearing daddy voice... "I don't wanna hear about a 'good line' on Pioneer. You buy from our site vender young man! Do you hear me?!"
