Guys,
Some info for you. I was on the phone with Sears just now. They had a total of 4 rear tires in our size 245/55/18. I bought 2 of them for myself. If my math is correct that means theres one pair left in the country. I considered buying all four for myself and then resell them. But instead, I thought I would pass along the chance for someone else to get them. Here's a link http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?cat=Tires&pid=09566023000&vertical=AUTO&subcat=All+Tires&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes

Hope this helps someone.

Be sure you wrap them in plastic too keep air from them and store in a COOL place as the rubber continues the "Vulcanizing" process in the presence of heat and oxygen.....otherwise they will become very hard as time goes on!!:shake:

Makes them wear well but traction will be ZERO!!!

Ford should have done a better job with our tire selection!!:mad2:

They are stored in Poly bags in a climate controlled shop...I dont think they will be in storage too long:burn:
I am running the 245s all the way around so I am still shopping locally for 2 more...luckily I have a buddy at a tire shop and he is looking too.

does running the same size tire all the way around cause the abs light to come on??do you have any pictures?

At least the 225/60-18s on my MM are plentiful.

But I'm not bragging.

Not the ABS light but if you have an '04 the traction control light will come on if there isn't bigger tires in the rear than the front. Search for the ratio between front & rear needed.

MINE'S AN '03,so I should be ok to run the same size all the way around??any opinions?

I don't know about the abs light, but running all 4 the same size messes with the TC sensors.

I'm running 245's in all four corners, and just get in the habit of switching off the TC every time I start up the car. Benefit is being able to rotate the tires which has improved my tire life.

Here's a few pix of Mine with the same size all around...Never had any problems with ABS, Early Production 300A so traction control.
I also adjusted the rearend down about 1/2 inch so the car sits level, The high in the a$$ look in not my taste. I know most like the stance, but not me.

First set of tires only got 16000 miles out of. Went to same size all around so I can rotate, Got over 22000 out of second set, On third set @ 48000 miles have LOTS of life left in the tires. I also took one of the original Rears and put on the spare so it is not oddball in case of a flat.
By the way I have a thing for New Tires...None of the tires I have taken off the car were "Used Up"...Most people would have gotten more mileage from them, but my idea of a worn tire is a little different than most peoples.

Someone said you need the rake to use the abs. Not that the light will come on but the abs brake will or may not work.

OEM rear size 245/55/18 all the way around.
Kinda cool tool I found several years ago is a tire size calculator:
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Might go with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 255/55/18 when replacing current tires, just not sure about running them on the front?
Here is the TireRack Link:

I have had Kumo tires on mine for about a year with no issues at all. I also went down a series both in the front and the back. Tire Rack only suggested to run at least 36psi for daily driving. Just an idea and less $$$.

235/45/18 in front
245/50/18 in rear

I would just prefer to run the same size front and rear.:beatnik:

I love the rake of the Marauder from the factory. If I can't get the original sizes, I would prefer to have larger rears than frontsAND I refuse to go with narrower tires. What size(s) would allow me to do that and would be more common?

CRC

255/55/18 Rear(Eagle F1 GS-D3)
245/50/18 Front(Eagle F1 GS-D3)

use the tire size calculator to see the difference...Not enough to wory about.
Lots of tires in these sizes...

Go with 255/55/18's for the rear. The front OEM tire size is easy to find.

Does that change the speedometer calibration?

CRC

Speedo will be 1.5% too slow
60 MPH will be 60.9 MPH
GPS shows my cars speedo is about 2 MPH too slow at 70 MPH anyway
(70 MPH is actually 71.8 MPH)
Just have to be aware of it when setting the cruise.

You will almost never get a ticket for going 71.8 in a 70 zone. Might get one for going 71.8 in a 65 zone though.
