Oh deer, ( ) not the sort of 'rack' you guys were expecting huh?

I spotted a nice buck last week so I set my cam out and this is what I got. This stud has been fighting. That's 'velvet' on his tines and is there until his antlers have finished growing.

My cam took 160 pictures in just 4.5 days. It would have taken more but something tipped over it's solar panel and the batteries died. In all, I got 155 pictures of deer and four pics of UFO's and one of sasquatch. Naturally these turned out better.

Three trophy bucks in one shot?! No wonder I have guys drive here from South Carolina every year just to hunt. The land is not 'managed' either so 'If it's brown, it's going down'. I just ask that no one takes a 'button' buck.

The bucket was half full of shelled corn. These deer are NOT baited every day. That's too easy. I could get 'em on my porch if I did that. This is the first time I set my cam out since January when I got some very cool Eagle pictures. Just thought I'd share. Enjoy!

Great pix, John. He could be Will's brother. Will & his sibling, Barb named that one Ed, visit daily, along with their three legged mom, Tripod.
Keep 'em coming, we love those photos. :)

Nice looking bucks, beautiful racks. I don't remember ever seeing bucks together here. Just singles with their harems. Whats the weight on them? I can't really tell how hefty they are by the pics.

That's pretty neat. Good photos for unattended cam!

The camera is a Stealth Cam DIGRC-X and has a 1.3mega pixel resolution (perfect for e-mailing to guys in South Carolina!!). Three years ago it was the best they had at Gander Mountain. The pictures are a little blury because it rained on and off all four days it was outside.

The solar panel for it was $80 and I'd consider it absolutely neccesary for taking pictures in the winter. I use 128MB cards for it which come in real handy. I can just swap them out without bringing the camera back home.

I don't know what the deer actually weigh.... I'll have to wait until hunting season to find out. ;)

However I do know that hitting them with a '80 Ford Fairmont at 40mph will put four fan blades through the radiator, but hitting one at 40mph with an '89 CVPI will only crack the header panel, grill, and a headlight. Don't know what they'll do to a Marauder...yet.

Great pics!

I hate deer however...including the one I just chased down with a whiffle ball bat a moment ago grazing on the last of 15 or so giant hosta. I couldn't find Gage's aluminum bat from the deck.:shake:

I have Hosta sticks.:banned:
