Howdy -

I am in need of some assistance finding 93 octane fuel on my road trip next week. I will be heading from IA to Indianapolis and back. (I-74 most of the way) I figure I'll want to fill up anywhere between Peoria, Bloomington, Champaign and Danville.

Yes, I have a backup 91 octane tune if I need it, but would rather just stick with the 93.

Any of you in IL or know the route well enough that can help out?

Thanks

Zack

Its 455 miles one way.

And, you might as well tell me to hold my breath the whole way, too. :)

Remember, Google Maps!
For example, type in "exxon Florence, SC" Gives you the address and shows balloons on a map. Changing the "exxon" to whatever you are looking for. Obvioulsy, "Florence, SC" to where you are looking.
The "get directions" are also handy if you find yourself in a unfamilar location.

Thanks for the help. I do not know which distributors have 93+ octane though, since few of these are in my home area. And the ones we do have all switched to 91 so they can say they have "lower gas prices".

I'm relying on one or two stations that are not major brands (or at least not labeled as such). I actually spent an hour one day calling each and every station around to find out where I could fill up. Amazing how many of them answering the phone had no idea what octane fuels they sell.

So which of these brands serve "the good stuff" in IL and IN? 94 is fine too if Sunoco still does that. We used to have one here with 94 ultra years ago, only 5 blocks from my house. Sadly it went away and now has HyVee gas of the 87 and 89 varieties.

From what I've read on board I should hunt Mobil and Sunoco, maybe Shell? BP used to have 93 all over, but the ones here went to 91 also, so maybe that's a possibility.

There is a convenience store selling Phillips 94 octane, just off the Interstate, at the Oakwood exit west of Danville.

All the BP/Ammoco places I've ever stopped at have had 93
