Today my friend and I decided that it would be a nice enough day for us to head over to Englishtown raceway to earn some timeslips. He has a 07 Mustang GT bone stock with a 5spd and I'm trying to improve my 14.2 timeslip from MV-V when the weather was extremely hot and humid.
Todays weather was 92 degree's and about half the humidity from my first attempts.
After tech we had our first runs before the car could cool off.
First run I lined up against my friend and managed a 14.143@96MPH.
Considering he slept at the light with a 1.102 reaction time (not a typo 1.102) and bogged off the line He only managed a 14.276@100mph. Yes 07 Mustang GT kill.
Second race after about 2 hours down time, he blamed me for messing him up and taking away his focus on what he was doing so he wanted to race a different car. I took on a C5 vette which I knew I didnt stand a chance against, he took on a girl driving a 01 Mustang GT with a automatic.
As predicted, the Vette destroyed me by running a 13.477@103MPH to my fastest time to date, a 14.017@98MPH. That made me happy knowing that its still hot as hell out and Im running 14.00's on the verge of a 13 second time slip.
My friend didnt favor too well, he had a better reaction time but still bogged it off the line which resulted in a 14.389@100MPH to the girls 14.659@95MPH. If it were a pinks episode he would have lost his car because the girl beat him to the end.
OK that was the end of time trials now the eliminations start. My friend is determined to launch the car hard off the line this time and make it work so he dial's in a 13.90. We only had about a hour to let the cars cool down so I dialed in a 14.00.
We line up, lights go green, My friend manages to get the car off the line without a bog this time but as luck would have it, his missed second gear and finishes off with a 14.574@99MPH to my second fastest to date run of a 14.092@97MPH. I moved on to the next round but because of the traffic that we knew we would hit on the way home, We packed it up and headed home.
To add insult to injury, there was a 18 yr old kid with the same Mustang, bone stock and a 5spd. His first run was a 15.0 because he sent his rear tires up in smoke, but his second run was a 13.888 which is on par to a new Mustang GT with a decent driver.

There was a high school catagory racing at the track and there was a Marauder racing in it. It was a 03 300A bone stock with over 70K on it belonging to a young guy and his father. They said Friday night in the cooler air that it ran 15.2. today in the heat he was pulling 15.6 and 15.5's. I told him about the site and he said he'll check it out tonight.
Except for the heat, it was a great day at the track. October is All Fords day at E-town so the will be my next track date to earn my way into the 13 second club.

Congrats and way to represent.:banana2:

Listing the other info on the time slips can sometimes provide helpful feed back. Particularly the 60'.

R/T... .309
60'... 2.043
330'.. 5.827
1/8... 8.967
MPH.. 78.34
1000' 11.694
1/4... 14.017
MPH.. 97.17

I dont have a scanner or else I would post a pic of the timeslip.

There was also a GT500 and a C5 Z06 in our group. The best the GT500 could do was a 13.3 and the Z06 pulled a 13.1. Nobody was very happy with their results today except me.

Great run! I hope one day I can get that close to the 13's. What mods have you done? (just to help me out a little)

As predicted, the Vette destroyed me by running a 13.477@103MPH to my fastest time to date, a 14.017@98MPH.

Blackened, the vette owner must not have felt that great about his win. He beat you by only half a second!

Blackened, are you able to post corrected times? You could run it here http://www.modulardepot.com/density.php if you retrieve the atmospheric conditions for the track on that date and time. I'm very interested, because our car's are similar, and I'd love to compare apples to apples. Your car has the converter I want, UD, waterpump and spacer.

If you had corrected times, I'd have an idea of what the extra mods your car has over mine would be worth. My best corrected time is 14.84 @ 96.5. By the way, I bet with the high temperatures you were running in, your corrected times would ALL be in the 13s. ;)

Good job Paul! With cooler temps around the corner 13 sec barrier won't even be a problem anymore. Let me know the date of that All Ford thing at E-town.

Like was said, the link "My garage" has the complete run down
Basicially every N/A bolt-on except headers and full exhaust.

Great site and sure enough, the corrected time for my fastest run would have been a 13.688@99MPH. Im really looking forward to fall now!

I never ran at the track when it was stock. I modded the car for 2 years and this August was the first time seeing what it can do.

Good job Paul! With cooler temps around the corner 13 sec barrier won't even be a problem anymore. Let me know the date of that All Ford thing at E-town.

Its looking like the first week in November. That Friday is a Mustang vs the world racing, Saturday is MM&FF fun day, only Fords welcome to race and that Sunday is all Fords racing but its looking like 1/8 mile racing.
I think the end of September Ill post it up early, I plan to return to the track.

Paul, good job on another hot day. You'll get into the 13s with good air.

Thanks! I hope so.

Congrats, Paul on some nice runs in hot weather. Come October you will surely find the 13s.

As for MV5 -- hot and humid is a bit of an understatement. : ) The sign could have read "Mason-Dixon Sauna & Dragway". ;)

People, people, blackened is ALREADY IN THE 13s: 13.688 @ 99. You can take his corrected time to the bank. By the way, that's totally awesome! Now the question is, will he make it to the 12s N/A?:D

Full SSW exhaust and motorsport cams?

I know the corrected can be considered a true test but there is nothing like having a timeslip saying I went 13's to really prove it.
As for 12's, Time will tell!
