After a call to Eibach, I found out they only made 25 sets back in February and they wont be available again til the end of August. After making some calls, I found a speed shop that can get the remaining 10 sets left in the USA. I ordered a set, but that was the 11th!. So, 10 sets left, and after driving Macs car, you want these springs. OK heres the info! Call Rich or Pete at:
Speed Merchant in California
408 295 0930
Price is $162.95 + Shipping.

Act now or regret it until late August!!

Just got off the phone with them. They said they but direct from eibach.. I talked to eibach today and they said the remaining kits of the original 25 were sold in april. Unless they buy from another wholesaler, I would say they placed the order with eibach before checking stock. If they did indeed sell them to you at that price and they DO arrive at your door, I guarantee thet are taking a loss on their sale. I also tried to find the springs through summit racing. After their call to eibach, they were told they are not available til mid September.

I just spoke with WholesaleHyperformance, as well to confirm. Ordered last week, credit card charged...they'd BETTER show up!

I spoke with Eibach several times last week, as well (it's how I got the before/after pics that were posted). No word from them on shortage of the springs.

I guess we'll see...

TAF, when I spoke with WholesaleHyperformance, the guy said he alsospoke to a guy who ordered them last week. Obviously we both spoke to the same person. Also the same guy who said he didnt know they were made until you called, and he also said his company orders direct from eibach. I hope they show up, that would suck to have to wait til september. Keep us posted.

TAF & Zack, keeps us posted.
For that money ($132+s&h), I'll go out and buy a set. They'll be sitting in the garage for a while, but not much longer !! (You know, the old wait until warranty is up story!)
20858 miles in 11 month and counting.

Not meaning to sidetrack. TAF, If you could PM me once you hear from them, I'd greatly appreciated it.

TIA !

Who out there is running these Eibachs? Is there any downside? I read in the forums that they lower the car 1" or so...that seems acceptable.....did you have to realign the car after install? (that question was posted but not answered I think) I did order them, and plan on getting Dennis's rear sway bar too and was just trying to make sure that the performance gains are worth whatever deterioration in ride quality that there may be....and does the kit come with lowering instructions for the rear a/s?....I was watching some guy literally bouncing along the highway (so hard his crappy body kit was shaking ..kinda funny....) yesterday in some lowered winged ricer and having buyers remorse!!

Anybody here in the RI/MA area have the 4:10s installed? would really like to drive one with them in it prior to making the decision when ordering the reinhart stage one in the next week or so. ..

Im not sure if the car will need an alignment, but i can tell you that driving in a lowered Marauder completes the package. Putting more power into the car and then being able to corner like a camaro is very achievable in this car. I drove a lowered marauder and let me tell you.... well worth it!!
You notice the handling improvement more than the new ride height.

So if you ordered them, there are only 8 sets left now!!!

The downside is that the shorter springs will likely increase the loads into the suspension and frame. Therefore, your suspension will wear out quicker or may even break. I think Eibach springs are usually progressive rates which helps with ride quality. If you are not familiar with progressive springs, the spring rate is soft at first then progressively gets stiffer. This helps with the small bumps and improves ride. You will definately need to get it realigned. Camber will be off (too negative) and the inside of the tires will wear quicker.

Zach, rest assured, you will love the improvement. Since I have installed mine, a dozen people have driven the car and like the feel. When I go to a cruise or show, and another Marauder is there, people comment how sweet the lowered Marauder looks. Dont forget to line up a good allignment shop that wont scratch your rims....very important!!
good luck

So how does everyone like their new (old) springs? Not too practical up here in the snow, but I'd like to know if the ride is harder or softer over little bumps and how much better are the on/off ramps now?

Eibachs are junk.
Cut 3/4 -1 coil off the stock springs and you'll love it.

You MAY get a better response by creating a new thread, as opposed to bringing one 3 years old to the top ;)

Or get a pair of those springs that came on early '03 CVPIs, they had a TSB on them because they were lower than spec.
The MM as I recall uses CVPI front springs.

Zack,

I got to disagree with you about the Eibachs. Yeah that take a little getting use to because they do bounce a little when you firat get them in but after they settle, you get a solid drop and better handling. The front fender measures 27 inches to the ground. I dropped the rear to 28. When I added the sway bars and control arms, the handling of my car took on a whole new meaning.eibachs are good in my book.

Funny thing is that after the install my car now sits at the exact same hight as my wife's stock Grand Marquis. Ford never adjusted the car after adding the larger rims and tires.

I agree the eibachs are fine springs, I actually got mine from Logan, who didn't like them at all. I find they are fine on my car, and don't bounce at all, and as far as high speed tracking... maybe it's a matter of alignment or something, cuz mine handle fine at speed

Mac & Zack are vendors, but that thread is three years old, and I'm sure any units he had in stock are/were long gone. You might want to check prices with Wes or Dennis and compare before you order somewhere else. Our guys usually cut members a good price. :)
