At the current exchange rate, it's about 55K American.

In January, it would have been about 49K!

Not too bad, considering the price of a GT500, Saleen or Roush 'Stang.

I'd own an FPV if they ever brought them over. Roush's go for under $50k believe it or not around here. Even the 427R's don't sell for that much. The most expensive Roush I've ever seen around here is the Blackjack, and it's because they only made 100 of them so the markup was huge.

Why does Ford make such great cars for the overseas market? When I owned and was modding my ZX3, everyone on that board was drooling over the Focus RS sold in Europe. IIRC, it was making well over 200BHP, with a 6 spd manual and all kinds of goodies that were not available here. The bosses at Ford must have manure for der brains.

Ford is smart enough to know that if it wants to sell cars overseas they BETTER be good because they actually compete with the Euro/ Jap manufacturers.

Here, all Ford has to do is advertise in NASCAR and the fools...um fans just gobble it up. It's pathetic imo. So many people here will never even CONSIDER owning an import brand. They just say "Been a Ford/ Chebby man all my life and I ain't never gonna change that ya hear? Ya HEAR?"

What really makes it funny (and sad) is that many Fords, if not most, are NOT even built here but rather in Canada and Mexico. All loyal Ford fans do is complain that Bill Ford and Elena (spelling) Ford don't know what the F__K they are doing yet they buy cars that only support the likes of Bill and Elena (oh and the Canadian and Mexican middle class.)

From here on out, "I" will NOT buy a car that is NOT assembled in AMERICA. Assembled in North America is not good enough for me. I want to support my fellow blue collar middle class Americans and NOT the white collar crap in upper management/ ownership in Ford or any other company.

What's more, is that we have all this Buy American talk when it comes to "cars" yet we happily sit back and let ALL the manufacturing and even research/ support industries be shipped overseas and say/ do nothing.

Why don't I hear, I will NEVER own a Sony TV, Computer, Camera, ETC.... Funny, Japan and Germany are good enough to make most if not all of your best electronic products but are some how not good enough for you to drive? GIVE ME A BREAK!

Have it built in the USA and support your fellow middle class American. Stop pretending that you are doing any good with your Mexican Ford.

Looks like I got a bit off topic from my earlier point. If you want better Fords (like those CURRENTLY being sold in Europe/ Australia then you must stop with this BS loyalty and buy cars with said qualities and only the Germans/ Japanese offer that level of advance technology in cars here in that states.

Ford the record, there are currently nine Fords in my family but we have had enough of them building cars elsewhere and not bringing their most advanced technology to the States.

Just one question, if a new Marauder came out, would you buy it ? (assembled in Canada).

Here is another Aussie Vehicle site, it is a subsidary of Holden (Aussie's GM ). This is where the GTO and the upcoming Pontiac G8 is actually built. They have to be converted to right hand drive for america.

Yes, no offense to our Canadian family here, but I think of Canada and the USA as being family. If they were in trouble we'd be right there and vice versa. Mexico I'm not sure about...

Yeah, Ford marketing was my point, I just dont understand it. They are certainly capable of delivering high technology, high quality products when they want to, they just chose to sel them overseas. I remember in the mid-70's Ford made a real cool Escort in England, waaay better then the Pinto, and they could have built the same car here and didnt. Now they have a very nice Mondeo in Europe not for sale here and these cool muscle cars in Australia.
If I were King of the Forest, I'd fire that haggamier running Mercury and make Mercury the high tech branch of Ford motor. Id bring over the Euro Escort and call it a Capri, the Mondeo and call it a Comet or something and the Aussie Falcon (all versions) and call it the Cyclone and see how they do here. If they sell, Id build em here. I would not sell any car that is a clone to a Ford ie Sable, Milan, and all those SUVs (with exception made to the Grand Marquis, they should build these as long as they sell).

No.

Note: However, nobody is perfect and I may get weak should Ford build a new Marauder with the S/C 5.4 engine that our Marauders should have had.

How about the better 4.2L R Jaguar engine.

The 6 speed ZF Auto transmission with sport shift paddles.

These in a new Marauder would be great, the engine has been radically improved and the transmissions are much better now than before.

2008 MM using the same glued together aluminium body structure of the XJR and Engine and transmission, keep the rest low tech and make it similar to the Lincoln / S-Type relationship and you will have a winner. You make it in Canada so you can keep the workers health costs down and market it this time. Fast, Mean looking, not too expensive and using the great platform that is so fast already and keep everything low tech and light weight.

This was the 2004 MY with 390 bhp. The new one is even faster and better.

Why does Ford make such great cars for the overseas market? It doesn't quite work that way...Ford of Australia designs and builds those cars over there, for their domestic market. The only things they import from here are the V8 engine long-blocks (they make the I6 engines themselves).
