This morning on the way to work I take a stone the size of a golf ball to the hood. My freshly painted hood hasn't even been rubbed out yet. :censor:
It came out of nowhere, and I originally thought it went over the car. I did not notice until I was stopped downtown and some construction workers were asking about the car. I went to open the hood, and dead square in the middle I see it. Two dents, and so badly gouged, it sc***** metal.
On the upside, the painting body shop felt so bad, they offered to repaint the entire hood for $200 if I provided them with a smokie burnout.
It gets repainted next week.:burnout:

That sucks! but $200 for the repaint is a great deal.
BTW, Maybe you should remove "Ding a ding dang... my dang a long ling long" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RBKTo5K14M)
Anything with a Ding in it may be bad luck

I second the video idea. That would be GREAT fun. :)
Cruz, think twice before putting bondo on the hood, if it's dinged. I had a paintless dent guy remove nasty dings from my hood. He, in fact, did my entire car, taking out 6-8 dings, ranging from nasty, to hardly noticeable. These guys normally charge about $200 to do an entire car. But if it's just two on the hood, it should be a lot cheaper. Then you just need the paint. My body is now as straight as an arrow.

Sorry to hear about the damage to the newly painted hood, Barry. Sounds like the shop is gonna do the right thing for you.
Pat took a similar whack on the roof at MV5; but the object must have been heavier 'cause he had very deep gouges too. He got his fixed in Texas.
Road debris must be on the rise. I had a similar incident on Tuesday while exiting I-95 North headed to work. The Jeep Grand Cherokee ahead of me kicked up a 1" stone that I thought was gonna pass under the MM. It bounced up at the last second just in front of the bumper and took a bead dead smack in the center of my vision space. I had to duck 'cause I thought it was coming through the glass. Luckily, it just glanced off with a loud WHACK. Fortunately, there was no damage other than a scuff on the windshield. Dayum gravel trucks are losing half their load on the highways with all this construction going on. :(

Barry, that looks just like my driver's side door. Last week I threw a rock with the lawn mower from WAY across the yard and caught my door dead center. Someone ask me if I had been in the wrong part of town because it looks like a bullet hole !
