No marauder shown and not a good showing for Ford in general.

I didn't see any Marauders either; but there were some 407 cars total .... they said the next highest Pinks-All Out was like 340 cars. So, Budd's Creek (MIR) had an excellent turnout and representation. They got down to the the top 16 quickly and did some really fast shots of the crowd and the staging areas. Too quick for these old eyes to pick up on some of the MM crowd that was there.
There was an 8.2 second Camaro there -- big block 502 and NOS. Another noteable was a vintage '60s Ford Econoline van (the no front version) that did a wheelie about 200 feet down the track. Another was a 10.2 second 429 Ford Torino station wagon. Also a '71 Chevelle that got sideways on his first run, gathered it up and still beat his competition by 100 feet. The Chevelle made it to the sweet 16.
The Pinks team selected high 10's as the tightest and most competitive grouping. That was 14 cars.
10 more cars were selected to compete for the final two spots based on Reaction Time. Starts were on the host's "Arm Drop" rather than the Christmas tree lights. This is more in line with old time Pinks racing.
Initially, it appeared that the right lane was faster. However, that equalized during the final 8's, 4's, and finals.
One guy was eliminated during the 8's because he had sandbagged about 0.2 seconds. The tower gave him a "thumbs down" after correcting for density-altitude and said he ran .18 faster than any earlier run.
The finals put a '91 Mustang up against a Chevy S-10 Pick-up. Format was 3 hot laps. On the first run the Mustang broke the rear end. The Chevy owner walked away with $10,000 plus what he made in wins getting to that point (about $2,500 more).
It looked like a lot of fun .... would have loved to see some of our folks showing the MMs. Maybe next time we'll see some 11's.
Pink has done a great deal to promote drag racing and inspire racers to improve their game. My impression of the show was mixed. Upon entering the gates and proceeding to tech inspection you are overwhelmed with 5-6 pages of legal mambo jumbo that would take 30 minutes to properly review. The tech inspection was also a joke. I got one question from the inspector ” can this car do 12.99 in the ¼ mile”. I said yes and he placed a approved sticker on the windshield. Saturday's (Test-n-Tune) moved quickly for the most part. We had time to visit and talk with other competitors. I was a little disappointed with the selection of the group of racers. Maryland had a ton of 8-9 second cars that were fantastic. Watching the Pinks All Out Show was nothing like being there. The TV crews were pompous and very unfriendly. On the other hand racers and fans were having the time of their lives. I can’t remember all the names and stories that were told. Overall I had a great time and would do it again. :banana2:

Did anyone record this show? I didn't tape it, and would like to put a copy of the show away.

Cool, I knew they'd replay it many times anyway. :)
I'll nab it on Saturday.
