Thought ya'll might be interested in my latest silly exercise. Letters are custom cut, flags are modified from oh-no a chevy part!! Not for the faint of heart, takes time, patience and dexterity. Send me PM if interested.

Nice work, very clean. In my younger years when Chevy was making real cars, I wouldn't have minded those flags, but now...?

Yea, I know those flags. Used to have them on the gas cap of my 79 Vette.
Good work though!

Isn't this like painting an oil based paint over latex?

the lettering and the race flag look good...better then just sticker letters (sorry big dog :P)
but the chevy flag on a ford? not sure if thats going to be very popular.
gonna get flamed from the ss crowd for this thread
edit: too late :)

'MERCURY" is crooked and letters are uneven.
Interesting idea though.

NO problem with me fat... I just got tired of people looking at the car and asking WTF?
but the chevy flag on a ford? not sure if thats going to be very popular.
Agree not a good choice. dual flags..sharp.

If the SS crowd can't take a joke well :help:
Nice concept, but the chevy bowtie just doesn't fit. Maybe checkered flag on both sides

I think Checkered Flags on both sides would do it!
Gotta love it!
Looks good...for a Blue Marauder ( weren't those made for girls?)
No, just joking, I think it looks great!
Keep on Marauderin'!!

What are the letters cut from, they look like they have depth.
Maybe just go with the chequered flag. The red one is definitely Chevrolet, with the Fleur de lis and the bow-tie.

If you like checkered flags, stay tuned for Marty Mac Industries upcoming fender badges. If you liked the lapel pins, you'll love the upcoming badges!!

Seriously, nice work Tom.
Jokeingly...Bow tie on a Marauder? What's next, a turtleneck?
Suggestioningly...it's too low on the fender for my tastes, why not move it up above the moulding, and the letters will look straight. Consider closing the spacing a tad as well.
Again, nice work, Tom, thanks for the inspiration.

Having only seen the blue Marauder in pictures, I thought that the blue was much darker than the lead picture on this thread.
If the color really is as the picture shows, it looks a lot like one of my favorite colors: 1965 Corvette Nassau Blue.
Or, is it the flash that's making it look lighter?

Can't get past the chevy emblem, anyone one who knows cars will know the origin of these and I just can't like it, when it came from a Chevy. the graphics are great though I like the lettering fine

I've taken the '64 approach to fender badges for my '03 MM...
http://john.frieltek.com/images/marauder-badges.jpg
This is a picture of a '64 Monterey Marauder with the original fender badges. I picked up a the marauder script plates [C4MB-16B114-B] and the black flags [C4MY-16300B and C4MY-16301B] and am going to place them just like the picture but behind the front wheel. I don't think there's room up front of the wheel like the '64 was. The script I got off ebay and the seller said he had 2 sets. (should have gotten both...) and the flags can be ordered from AutoKrafters. I'd have this done already but the flags are still on back-order. Interestingly, these are the exact flags on my '66 Cyclone GT Convertible!
When I have it done I'll get the pictures up here.
Cheers!
John

Look into having a re-usable silicone rubber mold made of those scripts before you alter and install them.
You can have more made up if you do.

TMF, this will look great also. I went the route i did so all items can be found new years down the road just in case. The font of the letters i used kinda matches the rear bumper. For others that may be interested, is the C4xx script plate avail new??
For those anal types, your MM may have recycled chevy metal!! Now go away.
Flash makes blue look slighly lighter.
