I don't know about your area, but there are a stupid amount of SRT8 Jeeps in Chicago. Last night I parked in the street, one was in front of me and one was behind me. When I looked in my back seat for a CD there was one making a u-turn one block away. I see probably five a day on the north side. Anyone else notice this or have a few SRT8s in their area?

I see quite a few...unfortunately nearly all being driven by inflated ego a-holes that taigate, cut people off to get two positions closer than they were, ansd criss cross in heavy traffic like they own the road and their hemi is invincable.
They suck. Chryslers suck, hemis suck....:flamer:

I usually see about 3 a day or so. +1 with Barry though. There's a punk kid in town who just graduated highschool, his Dad bought him an SRT-8 Charger and he usually rides my butt all the time. I'll teach him soon enough..

Talk about karma, a few years ago, a guy around the block from me with a yellow chevy cobalt came out of his block and proceeded to drive very slowly (on purpose) approx two miles wasting much of my time, seemed pretty funny to him and his girlfriend at the time.:P
Recently, I had the distinct pleasure of having him ride my little green bumper on three occasions for quite some length of time, the roads around here are one lane so he was stuck there. :mad2:
My car is just as obvious as his as you all know, so I know he was enjoying long awaited payback and nothing could have made me happier.
The last time, he tried to beat me into the intersection, but no... He got caught behind me again. It gave me semi-rigid wood that time.
When they get close, drive slower, I know its hard but its real fun and drives them up a wall especially with 6.1 liters of hemi power just waiting to be uncorked by the "inner douche ego" of one of these characters.

Haha that's good. I do that all the time. If someone comes racing up behind me, I let off the throttle. There was one night, a kid in a GT 'Stang came roaring up behind me, he attempted to pass me, that was when I clicked the OD off, and dropped the hammer. Let me tell you, he wasn't riding my a$$ any longer and learned his lesson damn quick.

Just watch out for the hemi jeeps, I have seen them at Englishtown running as quick as high 11's, but mostly 12's and 13's.

SRT8 Jeeps? Yikes! I didn't even know these things existed... I just checked out the Jeep website.
Man, these things are insane. Out of the box, sub 5 second 0-60 times?
Anyone that plans on teaching them a lesson better have a trilogy, or A LOT of mods...

Oh I know, a guy at work has an SRT-8 Jeep. He has a tune and a 50 shot. It's probably by far the fastest thing I've been in from 0-100. After that though, they're pretty much dead.

And they launch very hard, I bet they have very nice short times (60')

The last SRT8 I seen was late last year. I walked out of a gas station after getting some smokes and there was this dude checking out my Marauder. Naturally he asked where I got my wheels.
I said, "They're stock. All Marauders came with them".
"Buick makes a Marauder?" was his reply.
"No man, it's a Mercury Marauder! Buick quit making them years ago! What have you got?" He then proceded to show off his SRT8. At one point he opened the hood and pointed to a strut tower brace and called it a "anti-roll bar".
This idiot was maybe 25 years old. Haven't seen either of them since. I assume he's probably wrecked it by now.
Personally, I can't stand these things. They make as much sense as a lift kit on a Marauder. Shark jumping at it's most ridiculous IMO.

Saw a Yellow Charger SRT8 (bumble bee?) at the drags tonight. He ran 14.0 & 13.9. I heard the Jeeps are much quicker off the line but do not have any top end. 13.9 doesn't seem like anything to be excited about...

"Stupid Fast" and "Off Road" actually go pretty good together...For us truck guys...Perhaps, Motorhead 350 will agree...
I have a Blown '76 Bronco 4X4 that is "Stupid Fast"...it is a blast to drive...On or Off the road...
ALOHA
BTW: Those STR-8 Jeeps are OK...BUT...Remember the rule...Your car/truck is only as strong as its weakest link... I'll eat those jeeps, between beers...All day long...Then tow them to the side after they break...

I agree, there can be a time for Stupid Fast and off road, I don't think the SRT8 fits the bill. The SRT8 Jeep is supposed to be the fastest of all the SRT8s  at least on road
But, there is also a lot to be said for an 'off road' Jeep with a strong 4 cylinder, crazy low gear ratio and tall skinny tires.......all depends on where you want to go, and come back from.

I understand...Motorhead...This thing will bite you, if you don't know what you are doing...Rolled it over three times...Bit me good...But kept me safe (6 point cage/ 5 point harness)...
Had mine on for about a year with the first motor...blew the bottom end out in a hurry...Running it now on the new Stage II modular 5.0 block that has been stroked 331 and bored 30* with forged twisted wedge pistons and H beam rods and a steel crank (blue printed and balanced)...with a 174 Weiland Roots Blower on it...This thing is a MONSTER...Will break all (4) 35's x 17.50 Mickey Thompson's loose with 1/2 throttle on dry pavement...Now that's a wild ride!...10 foot high - 4 tire rooster tails on the sand is common place when I bring this monster out...It's all re-done to 2006 specs: Motor/Trans/electrical/Lights/drive train/axles/suspension/Stereo...It is not gutted out by any means...In fact, it won the peoples choice award when I entered it in a car show...and it's BLACK...just like the MM...
How far "off road" do I go?...Started out doing it all...Dirt drags/Mud Bogs/Sand Drags/1/4 mile...you name it I did it...Rock crawling never appealed to me, though...too slow, besides it would make my beer foam up...not good...LOL
Now it's set up for Speed ...1/4 mile runs, and sand/Dirt drags...I try to get it off the pavement twice a month, if time allows...And it's street legal!...I drive it to work, on the weekends...
If I wasn't so deep into this one, the MM would have been SC'ed already...
I 've been blessed with the best of both worlds...
Blown '76 Bronco = Raw (Crazy) Power
MM = Refined (Classy) Power

You could up load them to the gallery here, or you could host them on a picture hosting site, photobucket is popular.
Then using the little 'insert image' button on the post a thread page, you can enter the picture URL, and the board software will do the rest.

And one more thing...
Jeep Hemi. Hemi Jeep. (say this out loud.) Doesn't that just sound weird? I think we should send 'Big Daddy' Don Garlitz over there with Swamp Rat 15 to teach those crazy Germans a little about Chryslers history.
When some one mentions 'Hemi' I automatically think GTX or Road Runner and not Jeep.
Pontiac Grand National does have a nice ring to it though...
