There are a tone of them that take a crap and have to be repaired or replaced. Mine was fine then just quit recieving am and fm signal. I was able to replace it with another members radio. Worked fine ever since. But until then you could get the fm thingy for the ipod to recieve radio and play it through your car stereo. Thats what I did. since I was missing the bears games while driving home from work. LOL

Mine crapped out am/fm had an estimated to repair @ $319.00...Would go off & on only for short period of time.
Driving to Florida and in south Georiga the am/fm started working again
and has been ever since, knock on wood!

Same happened to me. Had mine replaced under warrenty last year. Ford should support this, as so many had a problem. Is definitely a supplying manufactures defect in internal components.

Ford wouldn't replace my under warranty on a 2003!
If it goes out again I just drive to Florida!

I get am fine but I have not got fm signal for about a year now. The dealer is blaming it on my tint and or a loose tab from the tint install. But I have had some issues with my dealer and will never take my car back there.

my am and FM reception would go out after about a minute and the dealer first tried to say it may be the tint, etc. but I finally had the guy sit in my car and without the motor running (accsy on) the signal would fade in one minute. they removed the radio and sent it back to the manuafacturer and a new one came back and only cost ford $28. It was still under warranty so they covered it. way cool. apparently this is a common problem.

Since I got my XM put in after Christmas last year I don't ever listen to the radio. If we have to go through a tunnel or a bad reception area I just switch it over to CD. The speakers in mine aren't too bad, but maybe one day a change out will take place.
