Hennessey Viper beats Veyron in 0-200MPH shoot-out

The Hennessey-tuned Venom 1000 Dodge Viper has eclipsed the world’s fastest car, the Bugatti Veyron, in a 0-200mph winner takes all shoot-out conducted by Road & Track, The twin-turbocharged Viper managed a best time of 20.3 seconds, almost four full seconds clear of the quad-turbo Veyron in second place, which took 24.2 seconds to reach 200mph.

Thanks to its twin Garrett turbochargers, the modified Viper doubles the output of the standard model’s V10 with a final figure of 1000hp (746kW) and 1100 ft-lbs of torque, making it one of the most powerful road-registered cars in the world.

Other notable mentions include a Ruf Rt12, Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR, a Lamborghini Murcielago, and a Lingenfelter supercharged Corvette.

The veyron is a 250+ car; I don't know if they cared about the 1st 200 mph of that as much.
I'd rather pay a fraction of that, though, (if I were that stinking rich) for an exotic like either of those

I dont even think modding a veryon is an option, at most you could get like 20hp more out of it from opening the intake and exhaust if it has any restriction at all.


Hennessey makes some fast stuff! There SRT jeep isnt anything to mess with either.

The Veyron is a fancy piece of Machinery but for a fraction of the price one can achieve the same result with the Viper. See my pic of the Veyron from a few months ago, its sweet but its much more than the 1.3 mill price tag, usually retailing for double that.. The Viper is looking real good..

I just dont like Hennessey. The Hennessey Cherokee puts down good numbers, but still acts like a stock SRT-8. Where is it going to go after 120mph? It's built for short distances.
