I have found two cars listed I am really into.. BOTH MMs of course.

The first one is a 2004 DTR with 44,310 miles. They want $21,988 and it is at CarMax so they have "no haggle pricing"
2MHHM79VX4X647397 --- my only thing is it has a sun roof.

The second one is at a ford dealer, which has the Auto for life warrany. It is a 2003 Blue with 48,877 miles and they want $20,988
2MEHM75V83X697958

hmmm... so many options....

21 grand for a DTR? Mine was for sale with 30k miles for 19,900, and i got that down to 18,400.

Both of those seem high, i'd probably say go to the ford dealer and talk the blue down, keep in mind all the fee's and taxes add another grand or 2.

Although if you like the DTR more espically since it has 4k miles less and a sunroof, get that because its cooler :)

Go to the ford dealer and see if he will come down seeings how the milage is
a little high. Forget CarMax. Too high and they don't deal. Better off with a Blue anyway.

Would you like an OASIS report on any of those?

Weren't most of the "03" problems actually 300a problems?

The blue is definitely the better color, but a sunroof would be nice. Both of those prices sound a little high IMO though. Last November I paid $18,700 for my '03 Silver with 42K miles and an extended powertrain warranty...

I think only the 03A's had the paint problem, but even the later 03's had the soft axle issue.

Thats what i read on the forum

Edit: It has come to my attention that only the marauders built in 02 had the axle issues, but the paint was an issue in 03 and parts of 04 marauders.

You can if you get time, there is no rush. I would appreciate it though if you could.

Sems like most paint issues were with black MMs, neither of these are black. Correct me if I am wrong...I just don't remember....

I'm having some paint issues on my Blue. Not as bad as some of the Black MMs I've seen, but still problems.

How's yours, Pete?

Like the paint "ripening" to red? GO BLUE !! They're more rare and you get to pick on the DTR owners.

My car is an A and I have had no problems. Question is I wonder when/if I'll get them. I'd say go for the Blue.

Hmm. Mine is an '03 but very, very late in the model run (build date 5/03), and my paint is basically perfect (other than the inevitable *! %&@ rock chips). Then again, I don't know that I've ever heard of a silver with paint issues?

Only paint issue I have is with the moron who banged my passenger rear door. I have white marks now. Time to try out that touch up paint I bought.

if it's just some of his paint on the surface try to polish it out before you go to touch up paint.

what is an oasis report? is it like carfax? I am still looking for a marauder, search has been for about 7 months now (talk about taking my sweet time ;)
I found one for about $15,000 with about 35k miles. Only drawback is it has a salvage title...

PM me the VIN. I'll run it for you.

BTW, OASIS shows:
build & warranty start dates,
branded title info,
recalls and programs,
Ford extended warranties and/or maintence policies,
warranty repair history.

Carfax is another story.

My blue has and had the paint problems - the hood was repainted by prior owner, the roof has about three or four dozen star-cracks as of now.

I agree the asking prices are too high.

Could someone post or PM me a link about the paint? Besides the scratches and gouges from cats, fingernails, rocks, and idiots, I'd like to know what the issue is so I can see if I'm having an issue. As it is, I believe I have a 300A, and I've already had to spend $426 to repair the axel.

You have a PM.

Thank you for running the VIN on those cars. It was a big help. I def wasn't thrilled about the single coil/plug replacement on the one car. I will be going to visit the the VA Ford dealer this week!

Thanks again!
