Thought I'd say hello and post a few since my laptop finally got here. Man this place is hot! It's been cooling down lately and by cooling down I mean a high of 115.

I should be back to Germany by January or early February at the latest. Until then I'm just working on schedule here and saving up as much cash as possible. It's not the nicest place in the world but it's pretty safe where I am and I've got almost anything I want or need minus a few creature comforts. Mostly I work towers here because of my weapons certifications so that's why the pictures look like they're taken from high up. The endless amount of sand is what it looks like from base on the Southside.

Also, I'd go ahead and announce here that I'm planning on getting married early next year. Kristina and I have known each other since high school and have been together for a while since. I included a photo of us.

Hey James, nice to hear from you in, gulp, Salute the Kaiser, Germany.

You're still taking great photos, I see.

Congratulations on the impending wedding, I believe I remember Kristina. Wasn't she your dance partner?

BTW I like the M-60 in the photo, do you think I could get to run a few thousand rounds through it? :D

Congrats on your upcoming marriage James. And from a former Blue Beret (76-80) I just wanted to say thanks for being out there doing your thing. Stay safe and stay low.

Hey James, check out my website about Clark Air Base, Philippines where I was lucky enough to be stationed. The site is not 100% finished yet, but getting there. Clark Cops Site (http://www.jeprox.us)

Not an M-60. More likely an M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW).

It'll only take a minute. :D

Rate of Fire: 725 round/min with linked
1,000 round/min with M16 magazine
Effective range: 1,000 meters
Cartridge: 5.56 x 45 mm NATO

Well, I may return sometime next spring to Greenville but I'm not sure yet. Turns out the LT that's commanding my flight is from Greenville too! Academy brat, only a couple years older than me.

Yeah that's definitely not an M-60...Security Forces hasn't used that weapon in a long time. I'm qualified on the M249B, M4, and M9. It's a real shame I'm not qualified on the .50 cal M2.

Also, the M249 is only made to fire with a magazine attached in emergency situations. That **** will melt the magazine to the weapon if you try it. The only way to effectively feed that weapon is with a metallic, split-link belt of 5.56.

I arrive back in Germany late January/early February sometime. Wedding should happen there.

How about a Dylan Mini-gun at 3,000 rounds per minute. Here's a video of one shredding a car >>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQzC5kiGVzo&search=minigun Even more impressive when you consider that tracer rounds are generally only loaded as every 5th round. :D

In Jane's IDR a few years back (around 1989) they had a 14mm gatling or mini gun. That thing would just mangle everything. It had to be vehicle mounted and while not my favourite it is a respectable weapon.

Favourite would have to be the light 30mm gun. It is similar to the M2 in size and mounting requirements, except that it fires a 30mm shell. Belt fed etc...

I still like the Steyr Anti material rifle. Originally it was a 14.5mm smooth bore fletchet based round, but the new ones are now 15.2mm and penetrate even better now. At 18 kg they are carryable and with a 40mm RHA penetration at 1000metres there isn't much that you can't stop.

Whoa, I'm a cop we don't even use mini-guns! (But we do use claymores occasionally for 7 level training) And what the **** sort of rifle is that, it looks nuts? Someone explain to the gun-novice what's up with that crazy thing.
