Anthony from the "Opie and Anthony" show is shipping his GT500 out there for the super snake conversion. The output is 720HP

Why? For the premium people will pay for any amped up Stang, you can get a vette for less money.

Who in their right mind would want a run-of-the-mill vette for $45k base price with no options and 400hp over a GT500 with 500hp for the same $45k MSRP?

One of our VP's at work is also sending his Shebly to them for the SS package. Can't wait to go for a ride in that thing when it's done.

Maybe because you can actually by a Z51 equipped 'Vette for that price (or close to it) and the dealerships are still charging markup on the GT500.

With the 'Vette you get a car that will run right with the GT500 (that's right, the non-Z06 'Vette will hang with the GT500), is lighter, gets better gas mileage, handles better,...

Now, don't get me wrong. I have been a long time GM fan, but if I had the cash I would have a GT500 or even a Roush Stage III and Ford GT in my garage before any Corvette. But for the actual money you would spend and what you get in return (aside from the limited number of GT500s) I think you get more of a car in the 'Vette. And the new LS3 based "base" 'Vette is even better than the current LS2 based one - from more power to better interior, handling, etc.

Oh yeah, nice car in the link. I like what they are doing with this new body style from a styling perspective and what they can do with them from a performance perspective, too.

I'm not talking from experience (since I haven't witnessed it), but stock vs. stock, that VP I told you guys about at work has both a Shelby and a brand new C6 Z06, he said believe it or not the Shelby will walk the 'Vette until about 80-100, then the 'Vette's top speed kicks in. From a roll, the 'Vette wins.
