Radio pops out when I start my car?

:confused:I installed my XM tuner box this morning, did a clean install if I must say so myself. However, whenever I turn the car on, my flip down face pops out? I have no clue why, and the way it pops out, isn't even the way it pops down if you wanted to put a CD in. Like the bottom just "slides out of place." The only way to keep it in, when I turn the car on, is hold the bottom of the faceplate to keep it from sliding down. Any ideas on what's up?

It's a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X790.

It probably needs a live all the time feed...in addition to the key operated feed...

It has nothing to do with willingness to provide info. It has to do with experience with the product. No carry means no experience means no info. Sorry.

I am a die hard Pioneer guy myself. If I knew Kenwood, I'd help. Sorry.

Its just like Rich said. I dont have a clue what the problem is. Call or go see who you bought it from.
They should be able to help. If it was a new deck it has a warranty and Kenwood will take care of it.

It sounds like a power interuption when turning the key to start - there are some circuts that are not hot in the start position. You can test this with a simple test light hooked up to your constant power to the head unit. If the light goes out when the key is turned to start, you may have found your problem. If all else fails, re-read the instructions or call the tech support hotline.

Krytin's answer, while correct, should not be an issue if you used a proper Ford 24 harness...
