My JLT arrived today and I couldnt wait to get home and install it so I went home over lunch and brought it back to work with me. This thing sounds insanely mean compared to stock I love it! It gave a SHOCKINGLY large improvement in performance also, before i couldnt spin tires from a dead stop, now i punch it and I get a decent squeel, Itll actually do a good burnout now too! Couldnt be happier with the product or the vendor, ordered it from wes, and his customer service it top notch, he goes above and beyond to take care of us. Cant wait to spend more money on the MM now.

Congrats, but can you check your insulation on the hood in a few days and let us know if it's rubbing. I think I want to get one, but not a fan of it rubbing off the insulation.

Does everybody have this rubbin' problem or can you make an adjustment for it? I'd love to add a JLT but I may have to go the K&N way to keep the rubbin' away.

I just cut out a section of the hood insulation and then glued up a piece of thick leather in it's place. It's just the design of the intake with the large PVC tube and since V8's want to rotate to the passenger side it just hits.

You can make a part to stop the rubbin. I'll post pics and specs when we take it out for the SC install.

Try replacing the OEM plastic hood insulator clips with the "christmas tree" versions. The stock hood insulator clips are like push pins and if you push up on the insulator you will see it goes up about 1/2" - the christmas tree clips have "teeth" all the way down and hold the insulator tighter and together with good orientation of the CAI will help with rubbing issues.

MIne rubs but I adjusted it so it rubs into a counter sunk portion of the liner so cannot be seen by opening the hood only if right in there looking for it...

mine rubs but its only made about an inch and a half long rub mark, honestly, hardly noticable, beside once it goes on and you hear and feel the diference youll never even think about the rubbing again, its fantastic.

Congratulations on the JLT. The hood sucking performance is really a great thing while charging through the streets. The rubbing can be avoided. Just have to be sure everything is turned away from the hood liner. Enjoy.

Hate to disillusion you but the K&N heat shield can do a little rubbing too.
Mostly the high pointed part of the rubber insulator.
