I hope they follow through with it since the current car is an insult to the Charger name.
The rear has many similarities with the 2000 Charger concept car.

With the Daimler/AMG influence gone I'm taking a big wait and see on future Mopar releases. They already are talking about putting MDS on future SRT products.

Chrysler is pretty good with making the EXACT version of their concepts. Remember the Viper concept in 1988? How about the totally insane Tomahawk? I hope they build it and make cars fun again. Dodge had a concept minitruck a few years ago called the "Sidewinder". The gas and brake pedals were billet aluminum and said "GO" and "WHOA".

Wasnt the Marauder concept almost exactly like the production Marauder?

That was backwards. Marauder was built from 'off the shelf' parts into concept.
The one off prototype concepts never make it into production as cool as the concept. Usually the concept is a hand-built work of art while the production is changed and made simpler for, well, production.

And a two door....It is really sharp looking...I have never owned a Dodge...but that in a SRT version with a 6-speed would certainly be under consideration....

Wow! I have to admit and give props to Dodge for pulling a design like that off. If they do produce that, a Charger R/T may be in my future. I think they styled it like that since they know they really messed up with the current Charger.

I think they styled it like that since they know they really messed up with the current Charger.Although the concept car is strikingly handsome, the current Charger is still WAY better looking than the 300...

Same body as the current Charger, different nose and tail. It looks much better than what they build now BUT I thought those pictures were not from Chrysler, just someone doing a better style job of the car than what DCX did.
If it is from Chrylser good for them they should build it. If not they should take note.

That is being built.
It was in...October 2007 issue of HOT ROD.
I'm actually gonna type the whole paragraph.
"THE CHARGER THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN
If only these guys had been working within Chrysler's design department a couple of years back. Rob Koeppel and his crew at Force Performance are going to do what nearly every purist has pondered since the release of the all-new Charger- hack off the rear doors. Oh, and also add two forms of forced induction to a 426ci new-gen Hemi to coax out a claimed 1,200hp. In addition to the cut, the sheetmetal will get subtuly flared fenders and an extended nose with a custom air dam and hoodscoop. For thepower part, rather than battle the notoriously stubborn Chrysler engine management, the Indy-headed Hemi will use a FAST XFI- system to dial in the Roots supercharger and twin turbos. See it come together at www.forceperformance.biz (http://www.forceperformance.biz), just in time for the '07 SEMA show. -Christopher Campbell"
i can't believe i copied all of that only to realize it gives the website at the end. you're all welcome. and i'm sorry if you happen to see the car at barrett jackson at some point.

Real Chargers only have 2 doors !!

I would love if they added the hiding headlamps from Zacks pics,
1- What do you think a new x100 would look like??
2- What were they thinking when they built a 4 door charger in the first place? I think they should have called it an Intrepid and given us a BAAAD 2 door charger.

That is a good looking concept. Be interesting to see how much of it carries over in the production model.

The germans designed the charger we see today, the origional concept was made by dodge, but MB punted that out the window.

There are a few problems with this.
1. It's a Chrysler. That's something that can't be fixed, only repaired.
2. If it did go into production, it will only be cool for a day or two. After that you'll see 700 of them every day and that is never cool.
3. Anyone remember the '82 Mercury Cougar station wagon? It was a re-badged fox chassis Fairmont wagon. That's where I see all future Chargers going.
At least GM hasn't put out a 4 door Corvette yet. They are busy putting 'SS' badges on everything from pick ups to Cavaliers though.

That car is so ugly the pixels wouldn't stick to my computor. My point still stands; A four door Charger, or slapping the name Charger on anything with wheels, is a bad idea, IMO.
I didn't think the 4cylinder, front drive Pontiac Lemans from the late 80's was a good idea either. Are any of those still around?

A lot of people hate the charger here but I drove one for a week, did a cat back and CAI. Car ran good, and looks good. I need 4 doors for my job so the car worked for me. Sorry to say in stock form it would spank my MM. Much more low end grunt. Yeah I can do a blower for my car, but look at all the companies that put out stuff for the Charger. MM only have a hand full and it was only a 2 year run.
I would seriously consider one if I needed a new car. SRT8 Charger.

I assume they'll offer it in Blue.

FROM THE ARTIST"S WEBSITE:
Here you will find cars from various manufacturers that have been customized. The idea is that most of these cars are designed as if the bean counters didn't exist so you will find for the most part realistic changes that could have been built by the manufacturers. You will also find Automotive Stylings that don't exist or are renders of cars for clients.
It is neat to look at but not really a "concept car" at all, just an artist's ramblings, I mean renderings.

That car looks tough, flawless, strong, mighty, testosterone induced, and they just might have to check it for steroids.
