A vs B ?

Hi,

I'm looking for a Marauder (I'm kind of slow). I like to know as much as possible before I buy.

I've been looking through the threads & I know it is here somewhere but I haven't found it.

What is in the B vs A? I know traction control is one thing but what else? I've heard a clock was deleted?

If you can point me to a good thread on this I would appreciate it.

Thanks for the directions Dr.

I think that pretty much told me what I need to know.

A's do not have traction control
B's do have traction control & mini spare,
but most do not have:
seprate clock,
map pockets,
fuel release,
B's also may have more options:
sunroof,
heated seats.

Does that sum it up correctly?


I read throught the posts & that's also what Martyo told me.

I've seen some other mentions in passing about early productions items like slightly different exhaust tips? etc.
I'm just kind of curious about that. Any places to look??

I'm going to go see a blue one now. (dealer demo unit)
I wonder what is in it and what kind of deal they will offer. It is almost model year leftover time.

Martyo you did not mention the sunroof.
Just the clock, map pockets, fuel door release and mini spare.

B's also lack the dark blue tint at the top of the windshield....
they only have a black (dot) matrix strip. A's have both
the black dot matrix strip and darker tint. Talk about
trying to save a buck....Ford doesn't have to be that cheap!

I do have the 'roof though. It's an aftermarket (ASC) install and I love it.

Went to look at that blue demo unit. It was a "B".

(It was also a "B" from being driven around in the "B"ronx.)

I have to say leaving the door panel unchanged and just installing a plastic plug in leiu of the fuel door release button was kind of tacky on such a nice car. I guess they will change it in the future?

Salesman said they didn't decontent the regular GM models. I didn't verify that.

The service manager had painted the calipers red & put on narrow white & red pinstripes. (Patriot mobile)

Does anyone know if they changed the wire harness to eliminate the wires for the fuel door release?

Jaywish - FMC decontented all Grand Marquis at the same time as the MM's. No remote fuel door , wide tint band ect.:(

Yes it's the sevice managers ride, about 7K on it, smoked in, ashes all over, nice 1 1/2 " scratch by the drivers door handle and the front bumper is trashed. That is a quick review. Couldn't tell about minor paint issues as it was pretty dusty.

Still it's nice. Has heated seats & 6disk.

Is that #8?

I have a Black decontented MM that has an underhood light. Build date 01/03. I beleive the parking brake release is manual allthough I never use it. All Blue and Silver MM"s are decontented.:(

Hi All,

Just noticed some comments about the steering wheel lock being discontinued with the advent of the transponder key.

Is that an A vs B thing or do no Marauders have the wheel lock?
