What percentage gain was that?

I just moved a pile-o-cash into corporate bonds on Thursday. I'm predicting a crushing global recession begining in about January '09.

I started investing in Apple 2.5 years ago.

Even with the change in the US - Canadian Dollar I have made 300%.

The more it goes up, the more I smile.

Price as of Friday after hours close was 163.50

And back down on Friday the 19th 2007 to close down 3 and some dollars.

170 and change.

It keeps going up and up.

As for the global crash, well, Iran is currently surrounded by 220,000 US troops and Bush can't be re elected.

Mind you last time a war started, Iraq; I didn't buy AMD stock. It went from $5 to $35 in six month.

Your dollar bottoming out, Houses down there stop selling and prices free fall. People go broke on purpose and then buy their houses or that better one down the street at half the current price. hmmm... 2009 you say.

You havn't been watching Dark Angel lately to, have you?

I've never seen Dark Angel.

I'm just expecting to see "new" and completely unqualified US management soon. Along with that will be a steep increase in taxes (particularly the capital gains tax), and the removal of various tax cuts.

We're going to see a full scale war against the haves Vs the have-nots. I don't see a war in Iran being worse for the economy than class warfare here.

People will get their money out of the market in anticipation of a capital gains tax increase. Why pay 30-40% CG tax when you can pay 15%? This will negatively affect the business climate here and the results will be fewer jobs.

The market also hates unpredictability and that's precisely what's on the horizon.

So I was watching the AAPL stock market fluctuations and happy to see that the close was 174 something. up 2.3% on the day. Then the earnings report for the third quarter comes out and apple earned 67% more this quarter than last year. After hours trading (extended trading) sees a price jump of just under $12 a share. Price tomorrow will open around $186. I almost can't wait.

Yeah, the last few days my 1000 shares of Berkshire Hathaway has slipped a little, oh well. Apple is still good:)
