WTF. I'm having the WORST time getting the rear rotors off! It's been like 2 hours, and not one side has budged! What gives?! I have to leave my car overnight in my friends garage because I have plans with my g/f and I can't even take the MM out! I'm so *****ing irritated!

smack em off with a mallet or hammer, or get a pry bar.
If your replacing them and dont care about damaging them, just get the sledge

When i changed mine i heated the rotor after releasing the emergency barke (which is a pair of brake shoes inside of the rotor) with a brake shoe horn and they came right off. Good luck!

Heat is the best way. Otherwise lots of prying and hammering and soaking with penetrating lube.

That's funny! I'm doing mine this weekend also. I had a hell of a time getting these rear rotors off. It took me 45 minutes of constant pounding with a 3 lbs sledge hammer per rotor to get them off the hub! Since I was replacing the rotors anyway, I didn't care what happenned to the old ones.
Wait til you do the front ones, YOU"LL have just as much as the rear ones.

I hate my car for that. It took me and two of my friends, seriously about 2 hours a piece for each side. We heated both sides up, rapidly cooled them down a few times, NOTHING! We literally beat the ***** out of them, they didn't even budge. We even broke a hammer trying to get them off. Then, we tried something different, and wala, they popped off. I better not have this problem next time, or else I'm throwing my car away.

Hey guys, remove the rubber plug on the backing plate and back the parking brake adjuster all the way down and they will come right off. Unless you drive the car in the snow, slush and rain you shouldn't need any heat to remove them.

Been there, done that. The parking brake is not the issue. I don't even use my parking brake. It's because the rotors have been on from the factory, they seem to welded themself to the center hub. They just need some serious pounding and penetrating oil to seperate.

The axle rusts to the rotor. Use anti-sieze when you put it back together.

Yup, never used my parking brake on it. We did adjust the parking brake adjuster though, the pads ended up falling off, and I bought a new kit for them. I did what Brian said put a little anti-sieze around the hubs.

and don't forget to clean off the corosion from the axle flange and inside the rotor hat before applying the anti-sieze.

And if you never use the parking brake just leave the shoes adjusted in, they are not automatic and will not tighten on their own.
