Rented a mustang convertible last week and drove Hwy 1 up the coast and really enjoyed myself to the point that I may get one next year. :coolman:

So.... your expertised judgements are needed to assist me with which convertible would be the one to get?????

Not a sports car (too small for my size); Under $75K; a little muscle; easy for top on/off.

Since MM convertible not available .. What do y'all suggest??

Thanks for your insight.

BMW M3 vert very sexy.

Or the Audi S4 vert

And my third choice though a few above the 75 mark and may be to sporty since you dont want to sporty but is way sexy of a vert the Jaguar XK vert R's are way nicer but more money but the regular XKs are still nice

OK I want to know how is that and where did you get it at. There is still nothing available on the net about these being a definite build.

What is your price limit?

Jaguars are nice but they are rather small. No backseat.
(buy used and never older than 03/04) The 07's are amazing.

Texascarsdirect(dot)com is the place to buy Jaguars in the USA.

Mercedes and Porsche make nice convertables.

Something big and old is nice, a Lincoln Continental Towncar 60's.

Suppose there is the Thunderbird. The new one looks different but is nice.

Viper.

Trans Am.

I always liked the Prowler, but it is probably too small for you.

There is that SSR truck from Chevy. Hardtop convertable, similar to the Lightning.

What do you think of the Shelby GT500? Or would a regular mustang GT work just as well?

All those others are cute, but there just ain't nothing quite like a Mustang vert. If you have deep pockets and want one that goes real fast, get one of the 500 HP Shelbys. Otherwise go with plain old Mustang GT convertible.

Yes almost forgot about the Shelby GT500 that would be another choice wasnt sure how muscle car you wanted to go. I like the regular Mustang verts but to common I like stuff you dont see to often which is why I got a MM. So the GT500 would suit me cause you dont see those to often. But its your choice if I had the money and wanted a vert the GT500 would be up there too. Would have to be black though.

I have been thinking about getting a Speedster 150. Convertible for summer and sleeps through the winter. Still needs the Marauder to get it to a usable place but light enough that the Marauder can get it there.

Corners better than a Marauder, seats four, comes with a sunshade.

TX Harley Guy,

It sold a while back on e-Bay for around 21K. But it was not street legal, would only go about 20mph, and the guy had to sign something swearing he would never try to drive it on the highway (or some such.) If it were me (and I had lots of money) I would try to get away with swapping the drivetrain from a stock Marauder and see how it would go then. Maybe use a stock Marauder title and say I modified the car or something. Too bad it was never produced. :(

You could always make a custom coupe out of Marauder.

It would cost alot, but it would be the only road going Convertible Marauder.

Body on frame would be easier to do.

or

You could make a Marauder body kit for a Mark VIII.

Another thought about Mustangs.....plenty of aftermarket parts if you want to go faster later on....

I think that we should visit this idea.... What is the sub structure like on a Mark 8...is it receptive to bolt on, or does it need heavy fabrication...

We should colaborate ideas...I will now be looking for one!! peaked my interest. What year Mark VIII?

Freakstatus,

Are you kidding? If it had the production Marauder wheels on it it would look great! My wife would even trade her Mustang Convertible for one I bet.
