Gents,
Two quick ones.
1. Do our Marauders have trac loc or it not then what and what exactly does it do?
2. My last 4 numbers of my VIN are 1998. Does that mean I own the # 1998 Marauder built?
Thanks,

Piglet,
1. The "limited-slip" per the websites name, installed in our cars is a mechanical "posi-trac" or "trac-loc". Basically when the axle detects slip on one wheel, usually the right rear, it mechanically "locks" or links to the two axle shafts together so the power is sent to both rear wheels. I'll see if I can dig up a better description out of my 02 Shop manual CD this evening. Anyway limited slip is the traditional way, since the 50's, to limit slip without computer assistance...
2. Nope, Marauders VINs are mixed in with Grand Marquis VINs. Only the engine code in position 8, V for DOHC versus W for SOHC is the Marauder ID. BTW VINs are not necessarily sequential either... Also your SRS code, in position 4 will also show H for side impact air bags, instead of F for front airbags only. But a GM can be ordered with code H so your are back to position 8 as the only one that matters..:D
