Just wanted to say Hi to all the peeps here and introduce myself.
I recently bought a 2004 Maurader and I could not be happier.
The car has 98K miles on it, but it is very clean and I haven't noticed anything Mechanically wrong with it.
Normally I wouldn't have purchased a car with this many miles on it, but I've been in love with the Maurader since '03 and couldn't afford a new one so my plan was to buy a used one. Unfortunately I couldn't find one! I gave up looking and then one day driving to work I see one sitting in the front row at a local dealer. I stopped on the way home to check it out, and next thing I know I'm driving it home.
I was worried about the high miles on the car, but after reading some posts here I think 100K is low for the car... I mean, it's so fun to drive how can you not put on a bunch of miles on it?
I plan to put another 200K on the odometer then rebuild the car from the ground up (if it needs it). I want to keep it stock though since there is so few Mauraders around.
Anyways, that's my MM story.
So... Hi! :)

Congrats on the find and purchase! I'm sure you'll want to mod her (it's addicting!) :) Be sure to search to do the proper maintenance on your baby to make her last another 100k.

Thanks. I do feel lucky that I found her.
And as far as maintence goes, no prob there. I drove a 93 SVT Cobra Mustang for 5 years and put 130K miles on her and she still drove like a dream before she got stolen :(. Still pissed about that.
I do plan on modding the MM a little :). I guess what I meant by stock was not changeing the body or wheels. Crap... I take that back...
I might alter the wheels alittle bit.
There's a place on Gratiot in my state that turns the 18" rear wheels into 19 1/2".
So I'll probably do that. But that's the only thing I'm changeing!
Bah, whom I kidding...
After reading all of you guy's posts I don't think I have a choice... I have to Mod the car!

I do have pics, not quite sure how to post them here.
And as for the price... I'm embaressed to say I paid $15,900.
I know I over paid... but I just had to have the car.
I was looking around town casually through the summer looking for one and didn't have any luck.
I even checked E-bay and made a bid on a couple of MM's. I lost.
Maybe frustration got the best of me, but I couldn't turn down the salesman when I talked him down from 17K to 15.5K and he said OK, how about $15,900?... SOLD! I said...I had to have the car.
I took a couple of pics showing the interior and the body. I'd be happy to post them if you could fill me in on how to do it.

Remember a good deal is a state of mind, not a price. If you got what you wanted for the price you were willing to pay, then it is a good deal for you.

agreed. mine was priced at 25 got it down to 20 with a trade in and thought that was pretty decent with some 35000 miles. after i read some posts i found i prolly could have gotten one cheaper. but then again i dont care because i love the car and im happy with it so i dont mind payin a little extra
how ever good luck with the new ride. people on this site are very helpful

Congrats and welcome to the site. Your def. thinking like a seasoned MM owner with driving it for as long as possible, rebuild when needed and then keep on trucking.

My thinking is, even if you paid a little more than you wanted it is worth it. When you wake up and see your MM in the garage or drive way instead of what you were driving...., in my case a Granny Crown Vic it was worth it.

You got the best car Ford ever made.
You live in the Marauder Meca, home of the project manager , that spearheaded the Marauder project.
I would love to see the company(product) that changes, the diameter of the wheels.
I thought nothing about modifications when I got the Marauder.

Welcome, welcome!
Great to have you hear. You'll find this a super place to be.
BTW, I was on a shoe string, and my budget was $10,000. The best I could do was a beautiful southern car, but with 98,000 miles on it for $10,500. I think I did well, and LOVE my car, too :D
Enjoy!

BTW, get your car ALIGNED right away, before your front tires get messed up. Search this forum for 'alignment' and you'll find a bunch of useful threads.
