After trying to get some tire quotes in Calgary, both came to $1400+ for four winter tires on 16" rims.

I found that I can order through tirerack Winterforce M&S tires, and pick up locally some 16" rims, 4 tires and rims, just as I requested locally, for $775, installed.

So I guess my mind is made up.

2x 215 65 R16 fronts
2x 225 70 R16 rears

4x 16" wheels either steel or winter alloy ($5 dollar difference).

I may even get an extra rear for spare tire use. $225ish.

I will also be able to get my tune and that Sub from John.

Think I might go with a Lidio tune, from Wes or Chad, the Unlocked Torque Converter clinches it. Although that livewire thing seems pretty good, it just lacks a couple things I really want.

So

$775 for tires, $400 for tune and $200+ for the sub and I spend the same as just getting tires locally. Add on the spare and I'm set for winter.

It is amazing how cheap things are down there.

So should I have the rear tires studded?

Alberta lets you run studs year round.

that will be $15 more each tire.

Sound like it will be $15 well spent.
