View Full Version : SSHS 7: So Here is my story....

First the good news:
As of right now, I will be there. I am flying down to the ATL late Friday night and I will come up to the track Saturday morning. I will be bringing my 2003 Cobra with a 2.8H KB blower. This is not a track car, so that car will not be making any passes.
Now the bad news:
As some of you know, the last few months have been pretty rough on me. I am recovering from some serious eye surgery/health problems with which I ran into some serious complications. For the time being there will be no drag racing for me – my eye can not take the stress from the acceleration. And, to complicate matters, our shop is merging with Modular Power House – the move into a new, state of the art facility is going on as I type this. The new facility is nothing short of world class.
With all that has been going on with my health (I haven’t been able to fly in several months) and with Jeff being too busy with the merger/move to focus on my car, my car will NOT be at SSHS7. I am very disappointed but sometimes ***** happens that gets in the way of the “fun” plans we make.
So, for now, Jerry Barnes holds the record for the fastest Marauder and I will be bringing him his case of Diet Coke. But, let me tell you this, I will be back with my car and Jerry will have his hands full trying to hang on to his record. You can count on that!!
I am looking forward to seeing all of my friends at SSHS7 and wish you all safe travels and low ET’s!!

Take care Marty--I too have been there--so I know somewhat of what your dealing with --I had cataract surgery in both eyes --6 months apart 15 years ago----had implants put in as they took out my human focus lens capabability---the stitchs(sp) were rejected by my body and felt like razors loose in my eyes --while driving no less---had to close one eye to stop the pain until I got to the doctors office to remove the stitches----so yeah--to look like a baseball bat has hit you and loose your eyesight is not fun at all----
So take care and we all can race another day my friend---Tom

Marty:
I hope you recover quickly. You have established major milestones in the development of MMs and infused a great deal of interest in our cars. See you Saturday.

Marty, don't you have a 440 Dodge Coronet? They must meet the weight requirement.
If so it would be fun to watch.

I have a Belveder II but it is shy of the weight and in my storage garage in NY!
And yes, it would be fun to run that car. Although I feel like I would have the time to fix a sandwich before I get to the end of the track. :burnout:

Might have time to reference the spelling too! :D
That Oarnge Park Acadamy must've had quiet a large class!

I am one of the fastest one finger typists you will ever meet -- so what if there are a few typos!
