Tomorrow I am going for my second interview. Any tips on how I should handle it tomorrow? What should I expect?

They probably asked already;
why should we hire you?
give an example of how you resolved a conflict w/ a co-worker/customer.
give an example of a contribution you made to your previous employer.
why do you want to work here?

I would do research on their history. If public read last 3 annual reports and news events. Memorize the mission statement. Research who is on the BOD.

Prepare your career goal and how obtaining your goal will benefit them.

We have to assume not everyone was asked back for a second. Only those that meet the job qualifications. You are probably competing w/ other candidates.

Good luck. Remember they need you.

I prepared a list of possible questions asked during an interview. I've asked some of them when hiring and have been asked some when job seeking. Send me your email addy and I'll forward. Past behaviors are a great sign of how one handles themselves. Firm handshake. Make eye contact often. Pauses (dead air between Q and A) are perfectly OK.

Dress the part. Get a haircut and wear a tie.

Why? I did in a conflict resolution class that wanted to work thru lunch. Problem solved, I got lunch.

Tips for the interview: Don't ask for internet access to maintain your porn habit. Don't ask for the potential boss' daughters phone number. Don't ask for his sons phone number. Don't tell them you "don't do mondays". Don't bring up those past, pesky felony convictions unless asked. Don't pick your nose and line the "harvest" upon his desk. Don't constantly scratch at your crotch and recommend his wife get tested. Don't listen to my "Do" list to follow. Good luck.

Turn off your cell phone, PDA, iPod, pager and Crackberry, and leave them in the trunk of your car. Smile patiently when your interviewers answer theirs during your interview time.

No garlic or onions the day before or day of interview.
Take a shower.
Use deodorant, leave off the cologne.
Do your best to speak clearly and use your best English.

and...................

No farting!

Guess he had the interview. He could have worn a costume!

In interviews when they ask you something answer quick but not to quick. Don't think about it forever. If you don't have an answer say so and then ask them a question in return.

Depends on what the job is.

Ixlr8,

Congratulations on the new job. Once you get settled in you can contact me for a meet up. (Bring your Marauder, of course.) Pensacola is just under 60 miles from Mobile. Interstate all the way! Watch out for Smokies. :)

I used to recruit in my old job and you'd be suprised how many candidates would show up w/o a coat and/or tie. Its the first thing you notice when they walk in the room and shows they do not take the interview seriously. Damn near an automatic "no thanks".

So i went back Wednesday for the Second Interview....During most of the interview I was fine, calm...I answered all the questions to the best of my ability...I don't know what came over me, but when he told me that someone will come in for the techincal part, I got alittle nervous. Some of the questions i knew, some i had to think bout alittle...So now i have to sit and wait for the verdict, its alittle nerve racking....
