View Full Version : Anyone else have this interior?

The guy I bought my car from last month said that it is a factory installed item that added about $1k to the sticker price. Its a wood wheel and wood inlays all over, including the shifter. The wood wheel is great, breaks it up nicely. (Always hated the MM wheel :() The leather is beautifully stiched right up to it. So far I havent met anyone that has seen this setup. Anyone else have it?

I'm almost positive that that's a GMQ wheel and was not an option on the MM.

The guy I bought my car from...
...is a liar. That is NOT a factory interior.

My fault, he said the DEALERSHIP, not the factory, put the options on it prior to sale. They did this kind of thing to my Grand Prix. I was just curious if anyone else had it.

If it was an in-state vehicle (for those who don't know, Formula and I are both in CT), it's most likely a dealer installed accessory...
From the level of "quality" (very subjective...but I happen to love the wheel...nice hide/wood...albiet a little out of place on a "performance" car...but classy nontheless)...I'd almost venture to say it was a company call Attention To Detail.
You'd be surprised at the level of work they do around here for the dealers....full leather interiors just being the start...DVD headrests...the whole gamut....
If your really hankering to know, one of their shops is in the old Sears service center down in Middletown (next to the court....I think the business is one of the Boomer McLoud's last I checked...but ATD runs from there too)...

It looks similar to the Grand Marqius wheel, except for the perforated leather.

The woodgrain is a complete dress up kit avalable in a few types of wood rosewood maple ect.

IMO that was a bad decision. Wood grain doesn't go good with an MM's appearance.

Well, it wasnt really my decision, bought the car like that. I actually do like it. Nice having a "different" interior.:coolman:

That was for sure a dealer install probably from a MGM. I like it, but not in a Marauder. If you wear rings and drive with your left hand be careful as that will scratch the wood.

A member on Long Island had that interior on an "04.
The car was for sale about a year ago - had Kook's headers amoung other mods.

I don't, but if it matched the "theme" of the Marauders dot matrix panels, maybe with charcoal satin finish. W/ Heated steering wheel?
I'd be all up for that. :beatnik:

Yes, It is a factory wheel & I had one in a '96 XJ6 and I have one in our '98 Navigator. Both were OEM, not added.

The wood wheel can be professionally wrapped with wood by an outside vendor. The wood on the dash is an aftermarket stick on wood that can be bought for any application.

I've been considering it for some time now. But the stock interior of the Marauder grows on you.

Ya. And I almost sure a Grand Marquis never had a perforated
leather wheel. That said, I like the steering wheel.:)

Looks nice, but IMO looks a little out of place.
Then again I've never really liked the "dot matrix" trim either, but what can ya do? I think it would look pretty badass to get redone in brushed aluminum or carbon fiber, but would be $$$$ since it would be a complete custom job either way. But really, it wouldn't be a Ford product if it weren't for some interior oddities. I love my MM, don't get me wrong, but some of the interior materials are pretty crappy and the fit & finish is lacking in places... They need to take some interior design & build lessons from ze Germans IMO, particularly Audi.
Hmm. Unintentional rant? I'm done now. :)

definately a dealer add on...there was probably an Addendum sticker that had the up charge on it for the interior " Accent " features...

Looks like aftermarket. The wood inlays are in spots that even the Grand Marquis doesnt have (trust me i know..I own one). The wood steering wheel on a grand Marquis would not have perferated leather. So it seems to me its aftermarket

What does a Town Car wheel look like? I know the TC's use perforated leather like the MM's

On the steering wheel, change the wood part to match the dash then we might have something.
