Whoops, jumped the gun, looks like for now they will keep making Grand Marquis and CVPI/taxis.

Ford stopped selling CVs to the public last year...they're fleet-only now. The GM will still be sold to the public at least through 2012 I've heard.

You can still order CV's i believe from the factory.

If you can talk a dealer into ordering one for you , you can still get a CV.

I love reading those kinds of articles. They are always written by people who don't have a clue and parrott what tehy've read from others

No matter that its dated appearance at Ford's auto show displays made it look like someone's grandfather was visiting

Yes it's current design dates to 1998, and some elements of it to about 1992 or so. But it's a design that has held up very well. Dated in length of time around, but dated in appearance?

HYBRID!! That electric motor could catapault it from 0-30 in a flash. And it'd save fuel.
Give a *****? You gotta admit, there is something badass about a black on black Crown Vic with Police Interceptor badging. I'd love one. Sure, their suspension is floaty and it's kinda heavy. But looming up in someone's rearview in a tinted out, steel-wheeled monster has gotta be pretty cool.
BTW i drive a Camry.

Typical Toyota owner. Doesn't have a clue and most likely has never driven one. "suspension is floaty" ? Not as floaty as his Camry!
CVPI suspension is not floaty, at least my 2003 isn't. I'd guess the base model CV that doesn't have anti-sway bars and a softer spring is different.

Do you have a fleet number Wes?
I can order one through the dealer I work for, I just need a fleet number.
And figure out a way to pay for it.
LOL
