We all know that there is only one choice we have when it comes to our rear tires. So I was curious what if I bought 245 50 zr 18s instead of the 245 55 zr 18s. There are alot more choices with the 245 50s. Would this work?

As noted in the link. 245 50 18's could replace your front tires.
255 55 18's are used by many members to replace the rear tires.

Alternatively if you want to use 16" rims, snow tires or the like, you can use different combinations, I have a set of these: 215 65 16's front and 225 70 16's rear on order as I type this.
