Will these fit on my Marauder?
16" steel rims, 6.5" wide, 5 bolt 41/2"?
I tried to buy some but the trainee who was selling them to me refused to sell them to me and said they wouldn't fit over the brakes.
Is this true?

They will not fit the front
Read carefully....THE SIZE POSTED won't fit the front as Merc so kindly responded.
That doesn't mean SOME OTHER MORE APPROPRIATE 16" rims WON'T fit.
Damnit....I said I was done responding to these REDUNDANT winter tire threads...:stupid:
Just for that I WILL NOT reiterate which 16" rims fit our cars.
I won't....I WON'T. :D

i really dont see how half of an inch in the width of the rim smaller would make it not fit

How about these:
16x7 10/100-114.3 offset 40 Silver
Will they fit on my Marauder?
(114.3mm = 4 1/2 inches)
How much of an offset is needed?

For snow tires.
215 65 16 front 225 70 16 rear.
So will these rims fit?
I don't want to get them and find out they don't fit.
They are cheaper than steels and look way better.

Anyway I dropped my Tires off at the local tire place.
I have 4 Core Racing Evo 7 silver rims and my tires going on them. They will work on it and them call me Monday when they are ready. Just under $700 tax and labour included. Then I cruise by and they will bolt them on.
The Tire guy measured everything to check that they would fit and all looks good.
Buying my Tires from Tirerack, took about a week, saved me $420 for the four and gives me the tires I wanted and the option to have them studded.
I also will maintain my alloy wheel look and be able to switch back to my 18's for the summer.
Will find out tomorrow how it all works out.
Thanks for the help.

Those wheels would clear the front and rear brakes, but you did not mention the offset. On an 03+ panther, you need ~40mm-55mm offset with that width.

They have a 40mm offset.
I'm having them installed by my Mechanic while he changes my oil, on tuesday.

I had the wrong Lug nuts, The ones the tire place gave me where too short. I had to wait an extra 2 hours for my car. Turns out the rims were a very tight fit. No clearance. They even had to sand the rims down a bit to make them fit. Then lineing up the lug nut holes was also difficult. All in all though everything worked out ok. Glad I didn't have to do it.
I think I pulled a muscle stacking my 18's in my Garage though.
I would recoomend PI OEM steels for anyone else. I do have unique wheels and they look pretty good, I will post some pictures when I get a working camera.
Driving in the show with worn BFG's and then later with these Winterforce M&S tires is a complete difference. With the BFG's driving to the garage I had this all done, It took me an hour, instead of 11 minutes. There was alot of traffic backups too. I never would have gotten up a hill by my place if it wasn't for the second gear start, I ended up doing half a donut in an intersection much to the amusement of everyone else. Driving back it was fantastic. Snow tires are truly great.
The studding couldn't be done there so I will have to decide If I want to have them studded or not. So far so good though.
Do I ever miss my Subaru's AWD.
