What is a non-s/c'd 03 Cobra? There was no such thing. All Cobra's in 03/04 were s/cd

How can a 03 Cobra be non-s/c'd ? Are you talking about a 99 Cobra. Darn Breadfan, you were thinking the same thing.

Yeah it also could be an '03 GT with a Cobra body kit, does it have a 4v or 2v engine?

I'll take the motor you don't want it... I NEED IT!!!
Will that engine fit in a MM anyone?

Yeah that is not an 03. It should work in our car but you need to use your intake and you may want to swap your 03 heads in unless your heads are bad.
HOLY CRAP A JOHN HANSEN SIGNED ENGINE!!!
Who the heck is John Hansen.

It was just a joke by the assembler, he was told to put his John Hansen on there...

Also it may have an 8bolt crank so you'd need an 8bolt flexplate, do a search I think there's a part # floating around, I wanna say late model F150 flexplate...
Front cover may also be a bit different than the MM. [edit: nope it's the same]
Others can chime in with any other differences.
Also, along these lines, I don't recall the early model Cobra engines being hand built/signed, thought that started in '03...I may be wrong, I just can't recall. I'm sure I know better either way just can't pull up the info in my brain.
Yes that engine will fit in a Marauder.
Depending on the year of it, you might need to use the lower intake thats on the car with the Marauder Lid.

Could be an '01.
The front cover is the same.

When did engines start coming hand-built/signed, was that with the hp debacle?

The hand built/sign the cover thing started in 1996.

It will fit and be a good swap, I will buy the upper intake cover I am installing a Marauder engine in a 98 Mark 8 and I need this, you will use your upper cover instead

What do the seats look like? I may have a buyer for the front ones if the price is right.

Its an 01. 01's had polished wheels from the factory, while 99's had silver painted wheels. The only Cobras made in 2000 were the R model.

post a pic of the taillights. If they have orange/amber on taillights its a 99, if not its an 01
you could always look at the date of manufacture as well, that would make it quite obvious.
very nice find catch though. Lots of good parts to use/sell on that.

The owner could have previously changed them. I don't really care for the orange amber myself.

Yeah, some people actually preferred those and swapped to them. I guess this could be one of them. either way, 99 or 01 there arent too many appreciable differences

According to most who post here only illegal immigrants drive on our roads without insurance. Thus, we don't need to kick him in the balls. Let's deport him.
I can only imagine where this thread would have went had the person been an illegal "alien" from a planet far far far away.

It looks like an 01 Cobra here's some things to check as to the differences between the 2. Many owners swap parts between the 2 years because of taste, etc. and delerships don't know the diff either.
Spoiler: 99 curves up in the rear/ 01 flat with a ridge in the rear.
SVT badge on trunk: 99 SVT COBRA / 01 SVT
Headlights: 99 Clear lens/ 01 smoked option
Rims: 99 silver painted w/ silver center cap/ 01 chrome w/ black center cap
Rear Bumper: 99 Mustang insert/ 01 Cobra insert
Seats: 99 Leather GT seats/ 01 leather w/ suede insert
Transmissions: 99 T-45/ 01 3650
Engine: 99 Teskid block/ 01 some leftover Teskids, but mostly WAP.
They both had amber turn signals, 03 is when they went back to all red. There are a lot of other differences between them, but the motor would go into a Marauder quite easily. Aside from a few differences, such as crankshaft, oil cooler, cams, windage tray, less head flow, it's the same motor with the same weak powdered metal rods.
