I busted the right rear leaf spring on my '83 F150 on Thanksgiving.

On the passenger side one leaf cracked in half directly above the axle, and the rear clip that holds the leafs together, blew apart. The driverside is still together but the upper leaf punched through the box.

Can I just bolt on a set of F250 leaf springs? Are they wider than F150 springs? If they are will they bolt into the leaf spring mounts on the frame?

I intend to get new u-bolts and get some used springs soon while the weather is still good (20's and 30's).

The best thing I could suggest would be to find a local spring shop in your area. I would imagine though, that F250 springs will be way too stiff and won't fit your shackles. Another option would be to search the net for suspension lifts kits and see if they show F150 and F250 differences. Ford parts catalog don't show dimensions, just part numbers based off of spring codes. Hope this helps.

Not sure if you found your answer yet, but if you look on RockAuto there are some matching part numbers between F150 and F250...

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1123669,parttype,754 4

Specifically these part #s shows up on both F150 and F250 lists:

HUSKY SPRING Part # FLS149 {Sold Individually}
Rear; 4WD; 3/1=4Leaf, 1 9/16" Pack Thickness, 1700lb Per Spring Rating
Rear; 2WD; 3/1=4Leaf, 1 9/16" Pack Thickness, 1700lb Per Spring Rating

HUSKY SPRING Part # FLS185 {Sold Individually}
Rear; 2WD; 3/1=4Leaf, 1 5/8" Pack Thickness, 1950lb Per Spring Rating
Rear; 4WD; 3/1=4Leaf, 1 5/8" Pack Thickness, 1950lb Per Spring Rating

Indicates they may be the same spring for both trucks, so, it may work.

breadfan i dont see how the springs could be the same? isnt the suspension one of the major difference's between a 150 and a 250?

The F250 has higher rate springs, so they may be the same size in length and use the same shackles but they would have more leaves, etc.

I'm not saying this is definitely the case but check the PN#'s and they match between F150 and F250 on some of the springs.
