Nice '55 Merc. But the 6 Volt ... "radio don't work."
"Pleat and Tuck" seats ??? Guess this is the equivalent to "Tuck and Roll Upholstery".

It says it is an automatic, but it looks like it has a 4 speed???
That would be a great cruise night car!

I would suggest that C6 in the header and the lack of a clutch pedal would indicate that it is automatic. I had a 53 with the flathead V8 and 3 speed w/overdrive manual...Black and yellow..with Naugahyde...sold it for $75 in 1962 or so....boo hoo...

Hack,
That's what I thought, too.
Sweet looking car, would love to have this one for cruise-ins.

Look at his selling points.
"Drives really well"
"Nice dash"
Gee I'm glad they didn't call our MM's "Montclairs."

Weren't C6's auto? My buddy had an old 460 F250 with a C6, and it was auto.

im an upholsterer... you are right but i understand why he said Pleat and Tuck... Pleat is the term we use whendoing home furniture, itis the same thing essentially but usually is machine sewn on automotive, and only tucked in by hand on home furniture.

Had a '55 Montclair--390 with A/T--Yellow--green painted top--paid about $3500 for it new. I have pics somewhere--it was a good, fast, reliable car--never had a problem--I should have kept it---Maury
