When I win the lottery give me a Ban III - please. Make mine with the optional aluminum block Pontiac 8.8L with fuel injection, please. And with that much torque I would probably stick with the 3.42 gears. I would also take the optional Touch Screen Navigation.

Yes, that is a lot of scratch, but some people (like myself) can see the collector value and also have that "emotional" ties to some cars. My very first car was a '78 Firebrid and I have also owned a '79 WS6 Trans Am and I do think that the original "Smokey and the Bandit" was one of the greatest movies made. Then again, some would probably call me quite weird, too. Oh well.

I think Year One did a great job bringing the car back and made some excellent upgrades to modernize them: flush mount glass, integrated fog lights in the front, upgraded suspension, brakes, and steering, but still remains the great look of the late 2nd Gen Trans Am.

And remember a loaded Ban III will be pushing close to 200,000. And it should be pushing well in to the performance territory of other cars in that same price range.
