Here is what showed up Friday we have had the shop full of projects all this week, I just got in a 03 A with close to 100k on the clock, so the owner said lets put a fresh motor in it, this car is a 03 A and does have the head tick on the driverside, had the car been under warranty we could have got that covered but with the high miles, we ordered a 04 Cobra reman crate motor, this is a very good motor this is what I suggested for Sherman, back in the spring, this motor has a 3 yr 75 k warranty, steel crank 8 bolt new oil, pan timing cover and valve covers.

Our mutual friend, the new owner and I of that bad boy had a great discussion about the project. Needless to say, he is "very excited." We will have to talk him in joining us this March in Bradenton at the NMRA Spring Break Shootout.:banana2: In fact I will be pushing for a major Marauder (20 OR MORE) showing UP there. Maybe even talk them into our own heads-up class:up: I will be looking into partnering with other businesses to sponsor the class for the event. I think we have a shot at it..

The 03-04 new Cobra create motor with eaton blower was around 15k. It came with all the parts and was ready to bolt in.
That's a rip since the fully dressed GT500 motor ready to bolt in is around $15K on ford racing as well :eek:

The Cobra crate motor is for my Marauder.
It was less then $500 more than a Marauder engine. See my post http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=40318&highlight=regeneration
6 weeks ago I brought her to a local shop to have the GT fuel pumps put in after the twin Cobras went out. They are a performance shop and have been in bus for 25 years.
They are an SCT Dealer with a Mustang Dyno.
One of the owners has a 9 second Mustang and the other a 8 second 427 Fairlane.
The Mustang owner called me wanting to know who did the S/C kit because it was very well done. He said most of the S/C kits they see come in are junk.
He also told me he wanted to buy a Marauder when new but couldn't swing another car.
I cannot wait for Dennis to finish it.:banana:

Well Friday we got Billy's transmission out, and Saturday Fred came in and tore it down to inspect it, with over 70K on it and 176 1/4 mile runs! it was unscathed, but we did go through it, were taking the motor out tomorrow and swap the valve covers over, mount the lower intake and the new fuel rails and injectors, I will post more pictures this week.

I'll have to talk to the shop down from my work, I send them a lot of my clients. I wonder if they would get the motor at cost price for me cause I'd love to have a motor sitting and waiting to go right in when my current one decided to clock out one last time.

Well, the motor and transmission are back in, the fuel system has been installed, the rear end has been upgraded to 31 spline, we have installed new struts and shocks, they will install the T Trim tomorrow, and for now we will go with a 3.3 pulley till the motor is broke in, Billy will post more pictures this week, the car should be ready for the dyno Friday.

I will let Billy post the pictures, his Marauder regeneration, is almost complete, I am now calling the car the New Orleans Black Bird, here is to sum up what has transpired, Billy bought a Vortech S Trim from me two years ago, he has driven this car daily, its weathered Catrina, has close to 100 K on the clock. Has had the car at the track over and over, we removed the tired engine, inspected the transmission and re freshened the clutches that was all that was needed. We had the converter checked. We installed the 04 Cobra re'manufactured motor that has a steel 8 bolt crank, good pistons good rods, we changed out the struts and shocks put new shoes and socks on the car (Brakes). We installed a heavy duty 31 spline Carrier and 31 spline axial, we are adding the Aeroforce Guage. He has the real OP guage and Fuel Pressure as well as Boost. We changed the upper and lower radiator hoses, flushed the brakes. We painted every thing black, we added 60 lb injectors twin GT fuel pumps Aeromotive fuel rails, we converted the car to a blow through Maf, sent the Vortech S Trim to be upgraded to a T Trim. The car will continue to be a daily driver, I want to thank Billy for his vote of confidence in choosing us, and we have another Marauder here for the exact same up grades the only difference is we are going to install the Novi 1200, updates to follow.

I posted the pics over here;
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=40318
With 95,000 miles and 184 runs down the 1,320’, of which 126 or 68.47% were wins, I decided a new engine was needed.
